Honestly I don't get why people hate her so much. I don't care for her music much either but guess what, I don't have to listen to it. I can change the channel. I'd take Lopez over Julia Roberts anyday. Now THAT is over-exposed. It's only been a few years of Lopez, it's been FOREVER of Julia Roberts. And I think Lopez has made a higher number of cool movies in her career than Roberts has made in her twice as long career.

While I'm no J-Lo fan by a long-shot, I agree a hundred-percent: I'd so much rather have her than ten more years of Julia Roberts. At least Jennifer Lopez doesn't get put over in every movie (unless they Disney-ized Selena, which I haven't seen), and even though it ended up being pretty bad, risked an interesting role in The Cell.

 

By the way, to clarify, wasn't she "singing" before she was dancing and acting? Not that I really care either way, I'm far enough from the loop that I've never even heard "Jenny from the Block" and wasn't even aware she had a new album until last week when I saw an ad for it in Pulse! (R.I.P.). I just really can't stand her "singing", it's like she talks over the beat rather than having any real sense of rhythm or range. Since most of her movies now are bland romantic comedies anyway, it's not like I'll be seeing any of them. Maybe Jersey Girl. Depends on what it's actually about.

On the topic of Jersey Girl, is it a remake? I'm looking up on IMDb and there was another Jersey Girl made in '92.

 

PS: The booger eating picture is funny. I mean even I stopped eating boogers in high school. Seriously, where's that from? "hidden footage" on the set of a video or something?

I think Lopez might actually be a better actress than Roberts. For the most part the appeal of Julia Roberts is hair, lips and teeth; she's got nice hair and a beautiful smile. Beyond that, she's not really all that appealing. When her looks are taken out of the equation, as in Mary Riley, there's really nothing to her.

Without question, Lopez is the lesser of two evils when compared with Roberts, who is so over the top overrated and just plain pretentious and annoying these days that she makes me physically sick. It was a horrible travesty that they EVER gave that bitch an Academy award.

 

I do have to take issue with one thing though - BEAUTIFUL SMILE?!?! What, that Joker grin she's sporting?

As for Jersey Girl, I'm fairly certain it's an original movie based upon the changes in Smith's life based on the birth of his daughter, or some such nonesense writers are forced to concoct at the prompting of that annoying question, "Where do your ideas come from?"

I'd say that pretty much sums it up for me. Unfortunately the reality is that the general public still loves Lopez, so we're gonna have to endure quite a bit more of her in the future.
