What if the Constitution of the USA...

Recommended Posts

Guest Downhome

Since we always say this and that because of the Constitution, what if it was different than it is now, like saying that slavery is a good thing and all should do it, that the nations religion was to ALWAYS be Christianity, and the such. If it was like this, all through the years, would we today still uphold the document, or would we have already changed it in many different ways.

I'm not talking about only the two examples above, I'm talking about just anything, if ya know what I mean.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

We probably wouldn't have bothered writing a Constitution if we were going to have those values as a nation.

For one, Strom Thurmond would have been elected president and Trent Lott would be fine and dandy like sour candy right now.

Bush still would have been elected, though.

Actually, the original Constitution did say slavery was OK. It was made illegal in one of the amendments, either 13th or 14th.

But anwyay; if we didn't have the Constitution we have, there would be much less immigration to this country since we wouldn't be known as the best nation in the world.

And life would suck even more than it does now.

Constitution has been ratified before, and it might again in the future. The problem now is that unlike 50 years ago, our current government officials don't want to hear any new ideas about ANYTHING anymore and are too busy worrying about how to raise their next 50 million dollars for re-election advertising.
