I would like to play this game.

I hate these people. Ratings are fine. If you don't like it, ignore it. Stop trying to ruin everyone else's fun.

In line at some store around here, I saw a 14 year old buy Twisted Metal Black. Now, whether or not that kid will be scarred for life and/or turn into a Sweettooth copycat (I really doubt it) doesn't matter. The kid was alone, under 17, buying an M rated game. Stores need to start enforcing the system. But as was mentioned before, more often than not, it's the parents who just don't pay attention.

Like, when I walk into my local Hollywood Video, the people that work there know me. They know I head right for the horror section, then new releases, then sci-fi, then action, back to new releases, and back to horror, with the now-and-then step into the games section. My list of past rented movies have all been R-rated or unrated because the filmmakers did not submit the movie to the MPAA. One day, they suddenly decided to enforce it, so I couldn't rent Return Of The Living on DVD. I started quoting the movie word-for-word to a clerk that worked there and chatted with me about horror movies a lot, but they still wouldn't let me rent it. Meh, oh well. Fuck the MPAA. Oh wait, VIDEO GAMES... Ummm...hey, I already got Vice City and GTA3, and I turn 17 in 6 months, so I'm okay.

Maybe if you were better fucking parents, you'd nocite the kid cocking a firearm before he gets on the school bus. *sigh* Now that I'm well above the cutoff for Mature games, I say enforce the FUCK out of the ratings system. I don't care if the kid will be 17 years old TOMORROW... no parent, no game. Then, parents would have absolutely NO grounds for bitching. The only way the game would then get into the hands of a minor would be if they borrowed it from a friend or had someone get it for them. And you know what? Shit happens. Part of growing up nowadays is being exposed to shit like that. Realistic violence is shown on free TV all the time. Argh... I'm starting to get pissed, so I'm cutting this post short.

Or, you know, Mom and Pop could get off their fat asses, go to the store with the kid, look at the video game, read the back, look at the rating, and make a fucking decission.

Now that I'm nearly 19 years old they never card me for anything. Dammit that's half the fun showing those smug fuckers that you're older than them(b/c most of the time i am)

I tried to buy GTAIII for PC, but my grandmother had to there. I tried to buy The Craft on DVD, but couldn't since it's rated R. Then again, being that I am 14 might have an effect.

NO ONE cares about video games, and the problem has never really been my concern anyway) Movie/TV/Game ratings are useless in my opinion.
