Guest converge241 Report post Posted December 26, 2002 from Wickedland.com: Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach has confirmed that he has been recording demos and auditioning for the new band formed by ex-GUNS N' ROSES members Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Bach, who is considered to have the inside track to fill the vacant singer slot in the group, told Florida's Sun-Sentinel last week that "All I can say right now is that they're pretty much trying out every singer who ever walked, and I'm one of them. I've laid down five songs with them in the studio, and they've given me another 14 songs with vocals that I'm trying to tackle. "I could be a member of the band someday but as of right now, I'm not," Sebastian continued. "You're talkin' to somebody who does eight shows a week so I just cannot relate to GUNS N' ROSES. "There's a reason why I'm the only heavy metal singer to take a Broadway show on the road in the United States — it's because none of the other ones can show up on time," he joked. and Axl's in a mental facility now? Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted December 26, 2002 So wait - can this new incarnation perform G&R songs, or does Axl own the rights to all of them?
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted December 26, 2002 They said they would throw in some of the old stuff but this is a new band, it's not Guns and Roses, so it won't be a every night type thing like what Axl is doing. Slash said he doesn't want to try to compete with Axl and have two dueling Guns and Roses. Speaking of Guns and Roses, I just read this story that had a quote from a "unnamed source" about Axl. Check this out.... "I don't have much positive to say, and Axl has enough complications without me adding fuel to the fire," reads an e-mail sent by said insider. "He's the one that turned on me after 14 years and I only recently got over the hurt. I'd rather try to take the high road." This same person admits needing "to heal from finding out Axl and I weren't really friends." Oh come on. Like we're not supposed to tell who this "insider" is? haha It wouldn't be the guy who wrote a song CALLED 14 Years about this situation would it? The article also says that while Bach is in the running for the new band he probably won't end up in the band as they are heavily leaning some unknown guy. I don't Bach has a chance in hell regardless. If they wanted a washed up old man they could've just stayed with Axl.
