Guest chirs3 Report post Posted March 8, 2002 --> POD? For the love of God, what are they thinking?! And did they have to pick THAT song?! --> Well, at least the comedy's getting a little better. The car segment was great. --> A little arithmetic. Hogan + Mic = Switch to rerun of TE2 Casting Special. --> Heading into Wrestlemania, we've got a really solid card that apparently the bookers forgot to hype. I am a little more interested in Flair/Taker after tonight, and I'm looking forward to Rock and Austin's matches just so they can punish the NWO for any time they've talked since their return. --> Tonight's Smackdown! was, oddly enough, entertaining. The real problem (besides the women's match) was everything was sooooooo sloppy! No one could be clotheslined over the top rope properly! Angle delivered the sorriest Olympic slam I've ever seen! Austin's chairshots, which Nash no-sold, were weak! Flair's attack on Taker... well, let's leave that one alone. I think there was a line in the Animaniac's theme song that went "Something something, we have no scripts, why bother to rehearse?" That was Smackdown. Guest Sakura Report post Posted March 8, 2002 I believe it's "The writers flipped, we have no script Why bother to rehearse?". That's not just Smackdown, that's every show.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted March 8, 2002 Well, thats what happens when Smackdown is live. No editing tricks can cover that up. Also, the Rock Desire video is missing that theme that everyone else's had. Everyone's showed a progression of their character, and went with the music. Showing Rock's program with Hogan in it doesn't do much in that aspect, IMO. Dames
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted March 8, 2002 This week's shows have not been great or anything but I'm seeing better development of the fueds for Wrestlemania, then we did in the three shows after the Rock/Hogan Raw. They are salvaging the PPV somewhat. The Flair/Taker feud has been well done. You are right though, that Flair's attack on Taker was a very feeble one. For once I was please with Taker shrugging off an attack. NWO is getting a lot of heat. I don't hear too many complaints about them getting face pops any more. Nash still looks super rusty in everything he does, so I guess it's just as well he won't be wrestling at Wrestlemania (well, it looks that way anyway). Hall's ring work so far has been passable at best, though. HHH/Jericho, the emphasis is still on Stephanie/HHH, which is too bad. Angle/Kane, Kane has been looking like Angle's bitch in a big way. I hope that doesn't mean Kane will go over. The thing that annoys me is that we probably won't the entire card until we're watching the show next Sunday. They're putting NWO vs. Austin/Rock on Raw this Monday, a potential PPV headliner, so they're defiinitely shooting for a big rating and parlaying that into more buys. Guest chirs3 Report post Posted March 8, 2002 Angle/Kane, Kane has been looking like Angle's bitch in a big way. I hope that doesn't mean Kane will go over. Huh? Kane was up from the Olympic Slam about a second after the pinfall was counted, and he owned Angle to the very end of the backstage brawl. And over the past few shows I'd say he's, at worst, been even with Angle. No way has he been Angle's bitch. I'm torn on the Angle/Kane fued. Angle is one of my favorites, but I'm sick of Kane being fodder for the stars. What do you do when you want a main event surprise title match that people will Ooh and Aah over, but will inevitably and undoubtedly end in a retain? Kane is their opponent. We've all seen it before. "Tonight, *champ*, you defend your title... against KANE!" OH MAH GAWD! OH MAH GAWD! OH- oh wait, Kane isn't gonna win. It's sad when you can say that and be right every time.
