Lincoln Financial Field opens next season.

Then the Phils get one for 2004 and the Vet will be gone.

I'm counting on a rematch with Green Bay at Tampa, but I'd be more than happy to have a third shot at embarrassing the Falcons. Basically, the only team that can beat Tampa (with Brad Johnson) is Philadelphia and we won't see that until the championship game. But god bless those New York teams for making the postseason a whole lot easier for the Bucs.

Geez, sounds like Kinetic is already getting in line for Superbowl tickets.

I'd wait until they, you know, win a damn game in the playoffs.

I just want to mention one other thing. I am sick of all these announcers calling Shockey the ROY. Are you kidding me? 74 catches 900 yards 2 TDs nice numbers

1500+ yards 17 TDs nicer numbers.

How anyone could consider Shockey to be ROY ahead of someone with that type of a season is a joke. 17 TDs to 2 give me a break.

Posted

Yeah yeah, I heard that record already. Let's try something different. I'm just stating fact. When's the last time Tampa has done anything in January?

And Clinton Portis is my ROY.

They went to the NFC championship in 2000 and should have won the damn game, if not for a bad call. You know...the same type of call that got New England past Oakland last year? Yeah, that sort of call.

Jesus, They beat Chicago not Philly here. Besides it wasn't THAT cold like it will be in Philly come January. I'm not secure in my picks yet...But I have lingering feeling I can eliminate S.F already and I'll go ahead and Cross off Pittsburgh...either of those two teams are working for me right now...

I believe that Cleveland is a Team of destiny until they meet Oakland. New York Is too good and riled for a Stagnat Indy team.

Tennesee isn't getting proper respect and I wouldn't be shocked seeing McNair running down that Sunny San Diego Qualcomm Stadium Jan. 27th.

So for the AFC...I predict...Cleveland over Pittsburgh and New York Over Indy.

I believe that means Cleveland plays Oakland and New York plays Tennessee. Oakland should beat Cleveland and Tennessee will take out New York.

All the hype will make Oakland the team to win but Tennesse fights back and takes it away and returns to the Superbowl.

NFC

Atlanta isn't primed for a deep playoff run, Farve and Lambeau will overwhealm the young Falcons whom will leave with an learning expirence. S.F is stagnant these days and N.Y.Giants are intense. Giants will walk over T.O and his Niners.

Green Bay will then head to Tampa and NY return to Philly. Tampa will take out Farve and NY will have no miracles this time.

Philly shall slay Tampa in the cold...

Super Bowl XXXVII

San Diego, California

Jan. 27th 2003

Qualcomm Stadium

Tennessee Titans Vs Philadelphia Eagles

I may be HEAVILY biased towards The Browns, but I got a good feeling they're gonna pull out a victory out of their ass against The Steelers. Remember, The Browns are an NFL best 6-2 on the road PLUS their two losses to Pitt came by 3 pts each, one in OT. In that game, Cleveland blocked a 3rd down OT FG, but since the ball didn't pass the line of scrimmage, Pitt recovered and booted up a 2nd FG to win the game. Doh!!!

Tim Couch is out for the playoffs and all I can say is hip hip hooray! Not cause he's hurt but because I think Cleveland has a better chance to win with Holcomb playing. All that film Pittsburgh has on Couch may as well burn in the trash can.

Then, IF Cleveland upsets The Steelers, they go to Oakland. Ummm, that'll be rough! But there's a reason you play the game. And if you don't believe me, ask Herman Edwards:

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME! YOU DON'T PLAY JUST TO PLAY!

Ahh whatever, I'm pumped up! Go Browns!

The Raiders could have stopped them on that drive OR scored on the possession after the tying FG, OR stopped them in OT.

It was the right call on an admittedly bad rule.

I'm not totally dead-set on picks for next week yet, but preliminary thoughts go like this:

Green Bay over Atlanta

New York over San Francisco

Pittsburgh over Cleveland

New York over Indianapolis

Oh hell...so Tampa wins in under 40 conditions and now it's "oh well that wasn't a good team".

Tampa loses in under 40 weather to a good team and you hear nothing about them playing a good team it's all about the weather.

If you people are going to keep bringing something up at least be consistent.

It's either all about the weather or it's not. The team they play doesn't matter if we're discussing weather only.

Guest Kinetic

Exactly. And, quite frankly, I think the weather as a factor in their games is overrated beyond all belief. Like I said earlier, most of those games came in seasons where they were lucky to win any games. Hopefully tonight's win will lay this bullshit to rest for good. If they can just return a kick for a touchdown and win an away game in the playoffs, we'll be all set.

Kinetic, are me and you the only Tampa marks here?

No.

I mark for Tampa also.

And.. BTW, Shockey IS ROY.

49ers and Giants?

Remember Week One, New York?

I do.

Giants are on a roll.

But, I really like both teams.

Shockey or Owens?! Decisions!

One win by Tampa in the cold means absolutely nothing for that trend of theirs. It's one win out of how many times? Hmm? It's a fluke now, if they do it twice, it's a pattern, and then if they do it three times it'll be considered a problem they no longer have.

Unfortunately, I picked against them before I learned as today went on just how handicapped Chicago was.

Guest Will Scarlet

Wow. Chicago couldn't beat Tampa Bay in cold weather and with Rob Johnson starting? That's pathetic. I now remember why I usually pick against Chicago. Too bad I did not remember that sooner.

Guest bravesfan

BTW, the playoff thread should be up soon.

I'm still wavering over how the scoring system will be done, so give me some time.

And yes, my Patriots [LOCK OF THE WEEK] did come true. I love you Adam V....
