If and when the split happens it cannot be two feuding factions, as that is SOO tired. They must be seperate promotions with separate World champions and stay seperate (except in the buildup to Wrestlemania, where champion vs. champion matches would surely draw big buyrates).

 

They can feud after a fashion with Vince & Flair commenting how they are behind in the ratings (do a Monday Night war except not in opposition, and with both companies mentioning the other.

Poorly performing wrestlers could be challenged with redundancy if they do not improve as they are holding the promotion back in the ratings war etc.

Now this is what I don't understand: virtually everyone has long since agreed that the best way to handle the split (if indeed there a split be) is to have a complete and utter division of talent and concept, and yet people keep stating this opinion as if it's original and necessary.  Perhaps it's reflexive bitching against Vince's history of screwing up good things.
