Guest Brian Report post Posted March 8, 2002 WWF RAW – 12/3/01 Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson open up the show. RVD and a partner will challenge Austin and Booker T tonight. Last weekend in “Bracket A” of the cruiserweight tournament, Essa Rios beat Spike Dudley and Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Matt Hardy (with stills). Mysterio has a six-point lead, while Rios has four points in second place leaving Spike, Hardy, Helms, and Juvi with two. In “Bracket B”, Billy Kidman pinned Sho Funaki for his fifth and sixth points, while Tajiri pinned Daniels (with stills). Tajiri, TAKA, and Chavo have three points. Christopher Daniels has two and Sho Funaki has one. Tajiri vs. Funaki Tajiri dominates most of the match and hits a stiff kick to pin Funaki in 4:46. <Commercial Break> Tag Team Championship The Dudleys vs. Palumbo & O’Haire Very even match. Palumbo and O’Haire dominate Buh Buh early in their corner. At four minutes, Buh Buh starts to battle out. At 5:10, he makes the hot tag and D-Von clears house. The Dudleys go for a 3-D on Chuck, but he gives Buh Buh a forearm and O’Haire gets in for a clothesline on D-Von. Buh Buh gets powerbombed for a near fall. The rest of the match is a big brawl, with the Dudleys getting the 3-D on Palumbo at 7:55. Booker T and Test arrive at the arena. Booker T says that tonight, like at Vengeance, people are going to see what Booker T is all about. <Commercial Break> Chris Jericho comes down to the ring. He says tonight, to prove just how good he is, and to prove that he will beat Triple H at Vengeance, he’s starting something truly inspirational. In fact, Chris Jericho is an inspiration to all champions, because tonight, the Jericho Open begins. Jericho, when challenged, will defend his WCW title on WWF SmackDown, against any ECW wrestler. Yes, all those Jerichoholics who can get enough of him will now see him beat every man on the ECW roster. <Commercial Break> Raven talks to Heyman backstage. Raven says that he’s a former ECW champion, and he’s beat Jericho in WCW and should have no problem tonight. Heyman encourages him. Test vs. Tazz A big brawl, with Tazz coming out on top by the Tazmission at 6:33. Austin runs down to the ring and beats down on Tazz, as Test gets up and hits the big boot. Both men leave laughing at Tazz. <Commercial Break> Regal talks to Booker T in the back. Booker says that he can’t wait to see who RVD chooses, because just like at Vengeance, he will pin him in the center of the ring. Booker laughs. WCW Championship Chris Jericho vs. Raven Raven dominates the early going but gets hit with the springboard dropkick to the outside by Jericho around 5:00. Jericho commands the brawling and rolls Raven into the ring. Raven blocks the Walls by getting to the ropes, but Jericho lays in the punches. He picks up Raven and whips him, but dcusk and Raven goes for the evenflow. Jericho breaks out and Raven attempts a clotheline. Jericho ducks and goes for the Breakdown, but Raven breaks out and runs to the roes. Jericho hits him with a dropkick. Jericho picks him up, and pins Raven following a double powerbomb with a sit down bomb at 9:17. Tazz bursts into Regal’s office and chokes out Regal. He says that tonight he’ll be RVD’s partner so he can get a shot at Austin. <Commercial Break> Austin and Booker T discuss strategy for their match later on. Booker T mentions the Rock, and Stone Cold goes off on him about how he is going to make sure to prove that the Rock’s win was his only against him. Intercontinental Championship Lance Storm vs. Christian Very basic match for the two. Christian picks up the win following a tomikaze at 8:49. <Commercial Break> William Regal comes out to the ring with the mic. He’s coughs, then says that he doesn’t care if Tazz wants to be in the main event tonight, he wants a shot at him right now. Justin Credible comes out instead and the match begins. William Regal vs. Justin Credible Regal dominates Credible from post to post and hits the Regal Stretch for the victory at 4:41. Regal gets up pissed, grabs the mic and says he’ll be waiting for Tazz. <Commercial Break> Steve Austin and Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam and Tazz Regal has joined for commentary. RVD and Austin start and Austin gets out-wrestled by RVD. Booker calls for the tag and Austin makes it. Booker dominates on RVD for a while, then brings him into the corner. He makes the tag to Austin who starts to work over his knee. At about 11:20, RVD begins to make the slow comeback. He hits a series of kicks and follows with a dropkick, but stays down from the pain. The ref intitiates a ten count and both men make it up at nine. RVD and Austin brawl, and Austin goes for a kneebreaker but RVD blocks and makes the hot tag at about 13:50. Tazz comes in a pounds Austin. He hits a Tazplex for two and a half. A T-Bone Tazplex for two and a half. Tazz gets up and locks in the Tazmission, but Austin lures him to the corner. He tags Booker T in, but Tazz breaks the hold and hits a bell-to-belly across the ring. Tazz clothesline Austin to the outside. RVD hits a springboard dropkick on Booker T, who stagger into a Tazplex. RVD hits a tope on Austin to the outside. Tazz goes for the Tazmission on Booker T, but he elbows out and goes for a bookend. Tazz wrenches the arm in reversal and goes for another Tazmission. Booker picks him up and hits backbreaker, and hits the axe kick to finish him at 19:43.
