no one's posted these yet, so straight from rohwrestling.com, here they be

ROH presented "Final Battle 2002" on December 28th to a sold out Murphy Recreation Center in South Philly. Steve Corino promised to turn things upside down and he did just that to the disdain of the 500 plus in attendance. We will have complete ramifications of all the happenings later this week.

The mini-TV taping saw:

Samoa Joe defeated the Outcast Killahs

Homicide beat Jay Lethal

Chris Daniels & Donovan Morgan beat Dunn & Marcos

Jay Briscoe defeated Ace Steel

The main show saw:

CM Punk defeated Colt Cabana to win the ROH contract in a solid match.

Gary Michael Cappetta then said that Christopher Daniels demanded mic time and he can make those demands because his Prophecy group controls all the titles, giving them power. Daniels came to the ring with Simply Luscious and ran down Alexis Laree for knocking Luscious out of being ringside at "Night Of The Butcher." Daniels demanded a one-on-one match between Luscious and Laree for 3/22 when ROH returns to Philly. Laree came out and said they could have the match now. Daniels then gave Laree the last rites when the ref was attending to Luscious and Luscious scored a quick pin. After Laree was helped to the back, Steve Corino came out.

Corino cut a controversial promo. He then told Daniels that he was forming an elite group of athletes in 2003 and that they would take all the titles. He said it was just business, but if The Prophecy held the titles, he was going after them. Corino then told girlfriend Simply Luscious that he couldn't have her giving Daniels all his secrets and he dumped her. Luscious ran to the back in tears. Daniels and Corino then challenged each other to start the war by throwing the first punch, but instead Daniels left saying he had two title defenses to think about and now Luscious was a mess.

Corino wasn't done yet as he called out Homicide because of the incident where Homicide forked him in the eye in the locker room at "All Star Extravaganza." Homicide came out and the two had a short brawl that saw Corino flee to the locker room when Homicide pulled out a fork.

Special K of Deranged & Angel Dust scored the upset in a wild, heated scramble match that included Da Hit Squad and The Backseat Boyz. After the match, Dunn & Marcos came to the ring and told The Backseat Boyz that they were the top tag team in ROH. Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere then laid them out.

Konnan defeated Chris Divine. However, Quiet Storm pinned Konnan in the second half the lucha libre gauntlet series.

Christopher Daniels & Donovan Morgan defeated The SAT in a 2/3 fall tag team title match.

The new Christopher Street Connection defeated Loc & Devito by DQ. The Chris St. were trying to have some fun, but Loc & Devito got fed up and destroyed them with hubcap shots.

Jody Fleisch defeated The Amazing Red when all of Special K came to ringside and save Fleisch from getting the infra-red. After the match, Fleisch joined Special K and then did a beat down of Red and The SAT. Divine Storm and Trinity tried to make the save only to get beaten down by the Fleisch, Izzy, Dixie, Angel Dust, Deranged and two unknown members. Da Hit Squad and JT Smith hit the ring and Special K backed off. The mysterious big African-American man hit the ring. JT, who shook hands with him on 11/9, told DHS he was on their side. Right then, the mystery man from the crowd choke slammed Smith while Special K jumped on and laid out DHS. In the end, Special K left Smith, Red, SAT, Divine Storm, Trinity and Hit Squad down. This sets up the biggest scramble match ever in Queens on 2/8 pitting Red, SAT, DHS & Divine Storm vs. Special K.

Xavier defeated Paul London in a very heated ROH title match. The crowd was going nuts rooting for London, especially during a couple of close near falls, and chanted for a rematch afterwards.

Steve Corino came out before the main event and said that ROH wasn't going to have a main event without him in it since he is the biggest superstar in the building. Homicide made his ring entrance first and Corino jumped him and injured him with a vicious attack. Corino ended up taking his spot for one of the hardest-hitting, most brutal matches four-way bouts ever. Low Ki, American Dragon Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe and Corino put on a must see, incredible performance and made wrestling a sport again. The contest for the #1 contender's trophy ended in a 45 minute draw. So who will now face Xavier for the ROH title in Queens on 2/8? We'll have the answer to that next week.

ROH would like to thank everyone at the sold-out Murphy Rec Center for another memorable ROH event.

comments and queries:

1--which fed did punk & cobana come from? i was thinking iwc, but i could be wrong on that. anyone got brief career details?

2--looking forward to steve corino forming a stable. how sweet would jerry lynn be in that group? please feinstein, whatever your problem is with mr j.l, put it aside and bring him back in.

3--don't get to see the roh tv shows, so why the 'new' christopher street connection? what's different?

4--jody fleisch in special k ... meh. i'd prefer to see him in the prophecy, but more regular u.s appearances from the boy are all good with me in whatever form they come.

5--big up respect in't area to fleisch and the backseat boyz for pulling double duty with czw earlier in the day. we salute your work ethic.

6--roh fans cheering xavier and clamouring for a rematch? nice. now put the belt on someone else already. of the now four no.1 contenders, three of them (low ki, dragon & corino) are all better options than xavier as the promotional figurehead, good as he is.

Punk and Cabana mainly work in the Mid-West. They wrestle for IWA Mid South a lot, but I've also seen some of their matches in Steel Domain wrestling.

Buff-E retired, not sure why, so it looks like there's a new member in the Christopher Street Connection. Not sure who.

Now what I want to know is, when are they going to make a Special K shirt?

My thoughts:

- The main event sounds awesome, I like Corino more than homicide so putting him in instead makes me happy.

- Xavier Vs London sounds good. I think Xaviers going to drop the title back to Low Ki or possibly American Dragon.

- I read elsewhere that Fliesch Vs Red only went 5 mintues. What the hell? Did Fliesch pick up an injury earlier at CZW or something because if not then that sucks.

- I also read elsewhere that Konnan sucked (suprise suprise) and that he was blown up after the first two minitues. He was given chants of 'Slownann' and 'Don't come back'. Why the hell did they book him in the first place.

- I really do hope Lynn is in Corino's stable, that would be awesome.

- Why wasn't Jay Briscoe on the main show and only on the TV taping? Surely they could find an opponent for him? I think they should have had Jay Vs Ace on the main card, it's better that the filler crap like CSC Vs Loc & Devito.

- Overall it sounds like a decent show with a great main event.

I was there last night so I'll provide some more info-

Punk v. Cabana was alright. There was a spot there were by the ropes and I yelled: DON'T FALL!!! Well Punk did just that and it screwed up the match as they were having trouble keeping it together.

Corino got some insane heat for his promo.

The scramble match was pretty insane and pretty awesome. Lots of crazy spots and it was all action. Special K seems to have like 900 people in their stable.

Konnan sucked. He did a Q-n-A tour on the bus I took to Philly and the bastard was late claiming he had to "work on some new lucha libre moves".

I guess Konnan's new style is called "slow lucha libre" cause he was blown up a minute in and was dead weight the rest of the 6 minutes. They had to go home early because of it. The crowd chanted 'Don't come back' at K-Dogg.

The 2/3 falls match was pretty fun- our section was riding Daniels the whole night which made it interesting.

Loc and Devito v. CSC was pretty crazy. CSC did all their 'yes we are gay' spots and then L-n-D just went crazy and beat the fuck out of everyone with a trash can lid. It was cool.

In the 'let's piss off the whole building match' Fleish v. Red was extremely short. Special K ran in and beat up Red and then like all these other wrestlers ran in and it was a pier-1000 brawl it seemed. I was standing by the rail watching and out of nowhere Lennox kicks the rail down freaking the hell out of me.

Xaiver v. Paul London was a very fun match highlighted by London doing s SHOOTING STAR PRESS TO THE CONCRETE. I was right there when he did it and I immeadately ran to the rail to make sure he wasn't dead. My friend and I helped pull him up. Xaiver controlled most of the match but there were lot of 'hope' spots and the crowd was into it.

The 4-way was a lot of fun mainly cause anytime the match dragged I just taunted Corino. Corino started yelling at me at one point which was a highlight. They screwed up the finish as Corino tapped before the bell rang. I rode the bus home with the timekeeper and I kept chanting 'You screwed Lowki'!

All in all for my first ROH show it was a lot of fun and if they ever do a show when I'm around- I will def go to another one

Special K seems to have like 211 people in their group but they weren't all in the ring at once

It seems every month they are adding more people to Special K. I just hope that they don't get hurt because so far once you're in Special K, you tend to get an injury. Guess Joey Matthews is out of Special K since I think he's in XPW now.

Last night's show was ok, but it wasn't great. I guess they were setting up the story lines for 2003.

Konnan just sucked. Thank god I don't think they will be using him any longer. Plus the fact that we had to wait 25 MINUTES for him for the Q and A because he was going over his match is a joke when I think about it now since the match blew.

As for the 14 Man Tag match. With all those people in the ring, let's just hope it can stand all those guys in the ring at once. It seems like the show in NY is going to be really good.

You were on the bus too???

I wonder what lucha libre Konnan was working on in the back cause that was his excuse or something for being late.

To quote someone there: I guess the new style of lucha libre is slow lucha libre

Yeah I usually go to the bus trips every month. I missed the October show due to a concert but have been to the others.

Yeah his excuse was that he was going over his match with Chris Divine and Quiet Storm and he wanted to put on a really good match tonight. Wow if that's a good match I'm terrified to see a shitty match.

He just flat out sucks. Then again when was he really ever good.

I couldn't believe Konnan got gassed so early. It was just sad

Yeah actually Dames told me about you. Nothing major just that you would be going on the bus.

Yeah it was sad about Konnan but he had to have known he was going to be put on the spot for his match since so many people didn't like the fact that he was going to be working for ROH in the first place. I think the only other time they chanted "don't come back" was when ICP showed up. I wasn't there for that show but I heard all about it.

Yea- Mike told me ICP was the only other recipient of the 'don't come back' chant.

I was the one who asked Konnan about Rey working with the heavyweights and being in the WWF.

I had no idea what it was going in and am still a bit confused- what exactly are the rules of a scramble match?

Oh ok I remember you. Were you with a group of friends? I actually was one of the 4 women on the bus. Not hard to figure that one out :)

Well these wrestlers have to think that ROH fans are smart fans and expect flawless or near prefection matches. When a match is shitty they are going to shit on you for it. I can't imagine Konnan's reaction when he got to the back after leaving the ring.

Well with the tag team scramble, it's just all the tag teams are in the ring at once and the first team to score the pinfall is the winner. That's basically what the concept of it is. During these matches, you usually find all the high flying moves and everyone does their finishers during the match.

I might have to make a point to watch the ROH TV shows in the hopes of seeing Bob.

Anybody know about when these matches will start showing up on TV?

Yes I was.

I saw Konnan backstage a couple times and he didn't look to be unhappy or anything- he looked stoned to be honest.

I maybe on the DVD since the Q-n-A with Konnan is gonna be on a DVD extra.

I don't know if I was ever on camera during any of the show except when Lennox kicked down the rail

I'm not sure- I heard the SSP to the concrete wasn't supposed to happen but I'm sure they had to film it somehow.

It was pretty scary though- I wasn't sure if he was ok

That's awesome. Was the guy standing or lying on the floor?

I saw AJ Styles do one in WCW just like that, but the guys taking the move were standing.

London's done the SSP to the concrete before, on 9/21 he did it to Michael Shane and came *this* close to whacking his head on the guardrail. He also finished his match with Shane with a SSP off a ladder. Simply put, the guy is like Ric Blade in that he'll fly off of anything, but unlike Blade, he's got what EWR calls a "superstar look" and actual wrestling talent.

Like I said in another thread, Paul London will be the biggest breakout indy star in 2003.
