Guest alfdogg Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I heard this last night on NBA 2 Night. The announcers discussed a trade that could be in the works which would send VC to Cleveland in exchange for Darius Miles and Zydrunas Ilgauskas. They also said that TSN (?) had denied that any such trade had been discussed. Discuss.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 30, 2002 TSN is the leading sports network in Canada so if they denied it- it's prob false
Guest LatinoHeat Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Why is it false because tsn denied it?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Well because they're the leading sports network in Canada so I'm sure they would probably know if it was false
Guest YouDaFoo Report post Posted December 30, 2002 And they have the closest connections with Raptors problay.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 that would be Sportsnet because they are the ass-kissers of Toronto...
Guest treble charged Report post Posted December 30, 2002 The Toronto Star said it wasn't likely, either, due to the way Carter's contract is structured and the salary cap stuff.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 30, 2002 However, ESPN said Carter wouldn't oppose the trade and desperatly wants out of Canada (can't blame him). However, Cleveland isn't all much prettier then Canada.
Guest Banky Report post Posted December 30, 2002 They should get rid of the overated, one dimensional hack. The guy can't carry a team, has a terrible attitude, and his injury prone. Time and time he proved in the clutch he can't hand with the big boys. All he has are fancy dunks with nothing else. They should get whatever they can for the guy before he falls apart. Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Hey, Why does everyone forget that he can drain a 3 pointer? Other then that Banky, Yer right.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Actually, I think Vince Carter would be better apt playing #2 for another team where he won't have to be the leader...he could hook up with Baron Davis at New Orleans or hang with Payton in Seattle. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Actually I saw on Sportscenter the other night that the Raptors DID admit that the talks were on. Personally I'd make this trade in a heartbeat. I don't think they'd get anything better. A young rising star and one of the better centers in the league now that he's finally healthy for a loser like Vince Carter? That's a great trade. It also provest that Cleveland IS going for the worst record and a shot at Lebron.
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted December 30, 2002 God did Mike Brown decide to start managing the Cavs too? How do they constantly make these stupid stupid moves. Why trade away 2 hot up and comers for someone who looks to be past their peak?
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Carter's only 25. Before last year, he was one of the best in basketball. When your team is as bad as the Cavs, why not take a shot at it?

Best in basketball? What has he done that's so great? Made some highlight dunks?
Guest Banky Report post Posted December 30, 2002 As a Canadian, I'll gladly admit Carter is one of the most overated players. He ruled it at the slam duck comp. in 2000, now he is useless. I'd get anything I could for the waste of talent.
