Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted December 31, 2002 Sorry about the lack of update last week, but it was Christmas, and there wasn't anything worth mentioning anyway. Sorry Pluto Nash marks! The last week for DVD releases for 2002 is pretty slow, but everything suggest that 2003 will be great for disc-heads. Blood Work Low key, yet well written and acted crime mystery from Clint Eastwood is enjoyable, although perhaps not memorable. Eastwood fans should like it, and I'm glad to see he's still directing his own stuff. Eye See You Everyone basically knew Stallone's career as a box office draw was dead years ago, but this confirms it, his first direct to video movie. The movie itself isn't bad, a kind of drama/thriller about a cop murdering serial killer and Stallone as a cop who goes on a downward spiral when the case gets personal. It's certainly better than Driven, which deserved a direct to video fate more than this. xXx Vin Diesel's first big solo film arrives on DVD in a fully loaded special edition. This movie is typical brainless, action/popcorn hollywood fluff, full of logic holes and cheesy dialogue. But if you are a fan of Deisel, you should enjoy the film nonetheless. 'Till next week, and have a Happy New Year!
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 Even though I highly disagree in it, I have to go buy xXx for my girfriend.
Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Barbershop came out as well. I passed it up in theaters because I just KNEW it would be stupid, but guess what? It's not. It was a REALLY pleasant surprise and was filled with some genuine laugh-out-loud moments. I'd reccomend it w/a clear conscience.

Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted January 1, 2003 bah. The last DVD that I got that had just come out was Last House on the Left, before that was Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and none before or since. I usually wait unless there's a really good sale. I will, however, pick up The Ring and Gangs of New York the second they come out, preferably with a 2-Disc SE. I did get "O" and Wag The Dog Monday. Good DVD's. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted January 1, 2003 The Shield sets are out? I'm so there. They're not officially out until next week, but there are some places out there that don't care/are clueless about release dates. Hmm. I should start looking around for Buffy season 3.
