Rob E Dangerously Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Marc "Everything he does is catch touchdown passes" Boerigter of the Kansas City Chiefs might not be the rookie of the year right now, he might turn out to be the best rookie from this year if he can keep doing what he does best (catch touchdown passes) 20 catches, 420 yards, 21 yard average, 8 touchdowns (including a 99 yard catch). An astounding 40% of his catches are touchdowns. Imagine what will happen when Marc gets to be more than a 4th or 5th target for the QB. Boerigter for rookie of the year, remember the 40%!
Guest DrTom Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Imagine what will happen when Marc gets to be more than a 4th or 5th target for the QB. Then he'll stop being a fourth or fifth option and draw better coverage, reducing his effectiveness. Look at Moe Williams. He had a high touchdowns-to-carries ratio when he was the third-down back, or when he came in for a goal-line situation. When he started, the ratio went way down. Considering that a very good NFL receiver will have 100 catches and 10 touchdowns, it's obvious that your boy's rate will take a serious nosedive if he gets more regular reps. That is a dashed impressive ratio, though.
