Guest Flyboy Report post Posted January 2, 2003 For people who play on All-Madden, it's well-known that GREAT games can come out of Madden when the final whistle is sounded. Unless you just totally own Madden like Lethargic claims and bitch-whip it all the time. This is the place to tell the tales of triumph or defeat. I'll be typing a couple up later. I doubt I remember the teams, but I know they will involve my created Ken Dorsey.
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I am in my third year of my franchise with the Niners. Well, it was week 8, and I was playing the Rams who were 7-0, and I was 6-1. I was done 28-21, in the 3rd quarter. I am usually never down, other than a few times. My defense sucks, so I have to save the game by kicking ass on offense. Well anyway, I actually stopped them and made them punt the ball. I then scored a touchdown. They got the ball back, and I intercepted the ball, and went up 35-28, and went on to win the game. Other than that, it is usually I kick ass in the game, so my games aren't that close.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted January 5, 2003 This past season I played a Titans team that had a number of injuries, especially in the secondary. However, they were up by 20+ points at halftime. David Carr (this is a fantasy draft franchise) was throwing zingers all over the field, and whenever I'd double up the rookie WR's Shannon Sharpe would make a catch over the middle. I was so frustrated because my team wasn't built to rack up points in a hurry. However, in the second half I picked the secondary apart and managed to win 51-49. Awesome, awesome game. Of course now I'm going to play them in the Conf. Championship and they're healthy. GULP!...
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted January 5, 2003 hahaha! great topic... on New Years Eve, I was playing my wife's cousin. San Francisco All Time (Me) vs Dallas Cowboys All Time (him). He took control early and led 14-0 at the end of the first. I was sweating but I was driving in his territory to begin the 2nd. I grab a touchdown. 14-7. OK, so he proceeds to march down the field and score another touchdown. 21-7. Well, there is :50 to go in the quarter and I didn;t want to be down 2 scores at halftime. I drove the length of the field and scored a touchdown with 5 seconds left on the clock. halftime- 21-14. he's up. ok, i get possession of thr ball to start the 3rd. I drive and score another td. 21-21. I intercept the ball on his next drive. I'm up 28-21. He doesn't advance very far on his next drive. I get the ball back and score another touchdown. NOW, i am up two TD's!!! 35-21 Start of the 4th quarter, I get nowhere, punt. He drives, he scores. No biggie. I'm in the 4th, I have the ball and I can run out the clock. Well, he stops me on my drive and my field goal misses. Oh shit, he gets the final possession with 1:30 on the clock. He drives the length of the field. He's on the ten yard line. last play of the game. I intercept the ball. Game is over. I win 35-28.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Fourth Season for my Seahawks, the record for first three years... 6-10 (won the last five straight) 9-7 (made it to the NFC championship lost to the Chicago Bears...Shawn Alexander got 1814 yards rushing averaging 4.9 yards/carry.) 13-3 (Lost to the Raiders in the Superbowl after a call was reversed preventing me from the winning touchdown.) This year I went undefeated in pre-season, but in the first four games I am 2-2. Stephen King is my QB as McNair is out for 5 weeks with cracked ribs
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I was playing an online game against RobJohnstone. I don't remember the details, but I know that he shut my running game DOWN. BUT, I shut his passing game down. It's 4th quarter, and I'm up by 6 points (I think.. this was awhile ago) and Rob is driving. He gets to my 10 yd. line (it might have been the 5) and it's about 1:30 left. Rob passes... INTERCEPTION! INTERCEPTION!! I DID IT! I HAD BEAT HIM!! One of my best games ever... that kept my streak against him 2-0 (I had beaten him just barely before). ------------------------------------------- I just had another great game, too. In my fantasy season, I'm the Saints. I have Vick as QB. Willis McGAHEE~! as RB, Shockey as TE, Ward as WR, and some other great players. Well, in my second game of the season I go against the Packers. They have Ken Dorsey as QB, Alstott as FB, Toomer as WR, Woodson as FS, and others. Talk about a great game. It was about down to :30 left and I score. It's 21-20. Knowing if this game goes to OT I'll lose (I can NEVER beat the CPU in OT on All-Madden) I go for the two-point converse. Nada. I lose, but I quit before the game ends and I have painted a target on Mr. Dorsey's head.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I had my first overtime game ever on the Madden series, and I've been playing for nine years now. Exhibition, Eagles (me) v. Seahawks. I thought it was going to be a cakewalk but Trent Dilfer thought otherwise as he ripped the secondary to shreds. I was down 17-7 after one, but came back and managed to tie. The fourth quarter was crazy, as every scoring drive I had was answered with one of their own. Tied 38-38 with seconds left, I tried the Hail Mary but turned it over on downs, now to... OVERTIME! And it was exciting too, as three times the Seahawks got into my own territory, and were turned away three times. Finally I got my third drive of overtime going, got inside the 20, and kicked the field goal for the 41-38 win. Great game.
Guest Angle Armbar Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Most of the time, I bitch-whip the CPU in my season. I play as the Bucs with a fantasy roster. My closest game was surprisingly against the Lions. It was one of those Madden games where they stop you, and they score no matter what you do. I was down 21-6 at the half, and also had my starting HB, Edge James, out for the game. Then, I panic and start throwing bombs constantly which gets me a quick 60 yard TD to PLAXICO~! 21-13. Thankfully, the CPU rests their cheating shit, and Harrington goes back to his normally erratic passing. Then, my 2nd HB, Travis Henry dislocated his hip and was out forever. SHIT! This is horrible for me, because I run, run, run all the time. I believe in Mike Ditka Power Football. Now, it's all down to my 3rd back, Curtis Keaton, who has good speed and nothing else. He busts a couple sweeps for TD's in the 4th qtr. and I win 28-21. Not horribly exciting, but it's the best I got since I usually win 21-0 with obscene running stats. Guest iamsherm Report post Posted January 5, 2003 This isn't a post about Madden (actually NCAA Football 2003), but I thought it was pointless to create a whole new thread for what's essentially the same game. My friends and I got together and played NCAA last night on Gamecube. It was my friend and I against my other two friends. We were Prairie View A&M and they were Miami (this was their second game they ever played, so we thought we'd give them an advantage). Miami went up 21-0 early in the game, but PVA&M hung around and made it 21-14 by half. Then they made it 28-14 and we made it 28-21, then they made it 35-21 until PVA&M tied it up 35-35. It went to overtime at 35-35. They scored 7, we scored 7. We scored 7, they scored 7. They scored 6 and then the required 2 point conversion. We also scored 6 and also got the 2 points. Then we scored a touchdown in the FOURTH OVERTIME, but missed the two point conversion. Miami was unable to score in response to end the game 63-57 in 4 OT's. It was the greatest game I've ever played (and probably will ever play again).

Guest Bricks Report post Posted January 6, 2003 Tampa Bay (Me) vs New York Giants (CPU) Score: TB 24 NYG 20 Time Left: Around 2:30 in the 4th Quarter. NYG has the ball on the TB 45. 3rd and Inches. Now, I always give up big plays when I play Madden. I mean like around 50+ yarders. If it's 3rd and long, it's never over against me. And this game is no exception. I had them pinned at their 12 and it took them one play to get into midfield. An incompletion on 1st down. Collins hits Shockey on 2nd down, but Lynch stops him from a 1st down by inches. 3rd down, Collins hands off to Tiki... and SAPP~! gets through the O-Line and knocks Tiki for a two yard loss!!! 4th down, Collins throws to Toomer, but Barber knocks that down and I kill the clock... by padding Alstott's stats of course. Final. TB 24. NYG 20. Also in the game, Rhonde Barber got called for a personal foul after a late hit on... twin brother Tiki. Wonder if that would happen in real life. Guest Johnson1620 Report post Posted January 6, 2003 I have the game and have already been through several seasons and even on All-Madden I have totally destroyed everyone. The Madden series and the NCAA series are getting better graphics wise, but it's the same game we have been playing for ten years now. It's gotten to easy for me. IMO

Guest Angle Armbar Report post Posted January 6, 2003 I don't think you can do a late hit on the PC versions of Madden, except for running into the kicker, which I do every time. It's funny when the opponents' kicker is injured.

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted January 11, 2003 NCAA 2003 appeals to me more than Madden 2003 does. I like playing college football against human opponents better than I like playing NFL football against human opponents. I also like the rivalry games that you can play for trophies and all that neat little stuff. ANyway, we had a thread similar to this one over the summer where I would post about my games of NCAA 2K2 and games of NBA Live that I would play against my roommate. Last weekend, we retired NCAA 2K2 and both put down $20 each to get NCAA 2003 for X-Box. Our last game of NCAA 2K2 was a good one. He was Oregon and I was UNC. I had been beating him pretty convincingly in our series, but we hadn't played the game in a few months. He was beating me 22-8 at halftime, but I managed to make a comeback. I was down by 10 points with a minute left in the game, but I stumbled upon a play in the second half that he had never been able to stop. Armed with this play, I drove my team from my own 14 yard-line and marched towards his endzone. I even got loose on a 40 yard scramble that took me to his six yard-line only to see it negated by a clipping penalty. I ended up kicking a field goal and trying an onsides kick. I failed to recover it and tried to stop him from running out the clock. He ended up throwing a pass that got picked off and I was back in business. With 10 seconds left, I called a halfback screen from a 3 receiver shotgun formation. As soon as I snapped the ball, I ran to my left with the QB. The screen was being set up on the left side, so my running back ended running next to me as if we were running an option. The linemen formed a good wall because I was able to get behind them so damn fast. My roommate ran over to try to defend the play, but the running back headed upfield while I still scrambled to the left. At the last possible second, I lobbed the ball up to him and hoped that he didn't drop it. He outran the entire defens and scored a touchdown to bring me within a point. On the extra point try, I called the same play, but ran it to the right. I almost ran out of bounds trying to outrun the two defenders who were contesting the play, but did a high end over end leap at the end of the play. The game ended on that play and I didn't know the result of the game until I saw the end of game score:UO 35, UNC 36. We had a damn good game in NCAA 2003 this week where we played for whatever the hell trophy Northwestern and Illinois play for. My roommate was Illinois and I played as the visiting Northwestern team. He was giving me all kinds of trouble and I was having to call alot of audibles and create broken plays to get the ball downfield. I was operating out of the five reciever set most of the game and making short completions and occasionally getting along gain. To make a long story short, I beat him after four overtimes. He scored a touchdwon on his first overtime possesion and I responded with one of my own. I ended up completely changing my OT gameplan from my earlier gameplan. I just beat him with runs from the Ace formation and the I formation. No fancy shit, just good running. I scored a touchdown on the next possesion and he responded with one of his own. He took the ball and scored a touchdown on the next possesion, but he made a 2 point conversion to up the stakes. I had to match that or lose the game. I had no problem running the ball into the endzone, but I was kind of worried about the conversion. I didn't like my chances of running the ball like I had been doing since the first overtime, but my running game was coming alive. I went with a run off tackle to score and send it into the foruth overtime. I scored a touchdown, but I went for a two point conversion and failed. All my roommate had to do was get into the endzone to win the game. He made a fourth down conversion, but I sacked him on his next fourth down and won the game.
