Guest Mole Report post Posted January 2, 2003 Since Phish got back together, they made their new CD in four days. When I heard it was coming out, I was excited as fuck, seeing how they are my favorite band. However their new CD, Round Robin, isn't all that good. It is way too mellow, with not enough fast songs. Does anyone feel the same?
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted January 2, 2003 While not quite as horrible as Hoist, it's pretty bad. It kind of reminds me of Billy Breathes, where some of the songs will be OK live, but for the most part they will be bathroom/beer/sit down songs.
Guest Harry Hood Report post Posted January 2, 2003 To tell you the truth its really growing on me. Looking forward to 46 days and P&M live on tour. Round Room is probably my least favorite of the Phish albums however but it may one day surpass Lawnboy sooner or later.

Every single song on that CD kicks ass, with all of them being completly different from one another. Please tell me how Hoist is terrible?
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted January 3, 2003 Well, no, I'm not insane. Here's my honest feelings, song-by-song ... 1. Julius - absolute crap, especially when they play it without horns. Just a blah opener to an album. 2. Down With Disease - the jam gets pretty good when they play it live, which is good as it gives me time to go get a water and take a leak during the lyrics part. Plus, I always felt the lyrics were a slam on the fans, like when the Simpsons have CBG say "worst episode ever" jokes. 3. If I Could - down there with Sleeping Monkey as the worst song that they've done. I understand that not every song can be a fast song to dance to, but what was wrong with Fast Enough for You? 4. Riker's Mailbox - no comment 5. Axilla, Pt. 2 - what was wrong with Axilla pt 1? Why re-write a song with lesser lyrics? 6. Lifeboy - if I hadn't already called If I Could one of the bottom two, this would make the cut. Again, I understand the need for a slow-down song because the band isn't made up of machines and they need to rest too, but this isn't a good song. 7. Sample in a Jar - not a bad song, but in my opinion not a good song, either. 8. Wolfman's Brother - crap. 9. Scent of a Mule - one of the two best songs on the album, but to me that's not saying much. 10. Dog-Faced Boy - if it's supposed to be funny, I don't get it. 11. Demand - the other good song. I've been a Phish fan for years, and when this came out I was amazed. It has more shite songs than Junta - Rift COMBINED. It has more shite songs than all the new albums COMBINED. To this day, I sit down during shows every time a song on this album is played out of principle. Obviously you dig the album, so I don't mean to step on your toes. It's just not a good album to me. Guest TheyCallMeMark Report post Posted January 3, 2003 The real question is... how long are the solo's?
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 4, 2003 See, that is funny, because I love all those songs. So, if you don't like Junta, Hoist, or Rift, what Phish CD do you like?
Guest RedJed Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I'm honestly not a huge fan of any of the Phish album recordings that much. Now any of their live albums, thats a whole different story.
