If you had the power... would you trade your favorite sports team winning a championship for years without one

 

Or would you be happier with consistently good seasons without a championship

 

Has to be one or the other

 

I would sayits better to be competitve year after year as opposed to blowing it all.. The Red Sox make me want to say differently but ill stick to my guns

 

I wouldnt want to be a Marlins fan or say the Rams right now and say "well were having trouble now, but we did win it a while ago"

Definitely long-term success, without a good amount of championships.

 

I mean, I cheer for the Atlanta Braves and San Francisco 49ers, the poster boys of choking.

I really couldn't give a rat's ass if my team wins a game or not. It's my team, I'm a fan, I go to the game, I cheer them on, I have fun, I go home. Winning the game is just a little extra fun.

Give me a championship. As a 21 year old who lives in south Jersey I am a big Flyers and Eagles fan and follow the Phils and Sixers so the only title for any of the teams came when I was two so I have never really seen a championship. I want a parade and I would be willing to forgive at least 5 years of mediocrity if the Eagles won the SB this year.

It depends on how long the years of mediocrity would be ... if it's only 5 years, then definitely YES. If it's ten years, most likely still yes. If it's longer than a decade, no frigging way.

 

But if the Bruins were playing for the Cup, and you gave me this option, I'd gladly give up the ten-plus years just to see them win it.

Where in South Jersey, pinjockey? I'm from Philly, and worked in Sea Isle a couple of summers ago.

 

I also want a parade, and we have been waiting too long. Everytime we've gotten close, in my lifetime (I'm 24), we seem to run into some sort of mini-dynasty: Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Red Wings, LA Lakers. It's just sucks.

 

However, do you realize that, while we are still in a parade drought, we rule over other sports? The Wings have won the Lacrosse title numerous times, the Phantoms are former Calder Cup trophies, the Philly Kixx just won the championship, and even the Liberty Belles won the first championship in some sort of professional women's football league.

 

Philly is the king of minor-league sports. Now if we can just get the big boys to follow the lead...

I'd take being a contender every year. Better to have hope than just having to dream of the days when the team will be good again.

 

How are the 9ers choke artists when they're undefeated in the Super Bowl.
