Guest Garbage Man Report post Posted January 3, 2003 This is only my 2nd or 3rd post, I started an account and kind of forgot my password for a few months. Anyways, I always enjoy reading stuff on Thesmartmarks but it seems to be lacking something. The site is fine for WWE coverage, and older WWF/WWE reviews, as well as US Independant reviews, and Brandon Truitt's kick ass shoot interview recaps, and Dames actually gets to give ideas to the TNA bookers. the problem is that its all US wrestling that's being covered, nobody is doing reviews for Luncha Libre (sp) or Puro Resu (sp) I'm not suggesting that I do it because I'm don't know enough about either form, but it does seem like something that should be added to the site. Guest Garbage Man Report post Posted January 3, 2003 I've been to that site a few times, it seems like just all the stuff from this site is copied to that site. Who does the Luncha or puro resu reviews?
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted January 3, 2003 Who does the Luncha or puro resu reviews? Garbage Man, Not Puro Resu, its Puroresu all one word. I do a good majority of the puroresu tape reviews on Smarktalk, a few other guys have done them but for the most part I've been "The puro guy". IIRC Retro Rob did a few TV blocks of AJPW and NJPW a long while back.

Guest DrTom Report post Posted January 3, 2003 TTK! It's good to see your name gracing these forums, I must say. Welcome aboard/back. GM: We're actually looking for someone to do puro and lucha reviews here. Believe me, we know we're pretty well confined to North America right now, but we're trying to change that. Guest Garbage Man Report post Posted January 3, 2003 Mr Rant, I enjoyed many of the puroresu reviews on Smarktalk. Black Tiger was probably my favorite based on the fact that he did so many of them and after reading so many of them I got used to his review style. The only one I didn't really care for too much was El Dandy, I'm not knocking him or anything, but out of the four writers who I was reading (BT, DA, ED, BR) his style was the one I liked the least. My favorite review was either the one about Koji Kanemoto or the Big Wednesday one, I also really liked the New Japan TV show with the tag match on the end of it. Guest The Thread Killer Report post Posted January 3, 2003 TTK! It's good to see your name gracing these forums, I must say. Welcome aboard/back. Thanks Doc. I have told "The Dames" that I am committed to “The Tap Out Wrap Up” and shall not be disappearing again. I have managed to pull my shit together, so that I can balance my job (stalking Richard Simmons) and still doing my columns here and elsewhere. I have been lurking all along and have been most impressed with this site, all the work you guys have done, and your stuff in particular. It’s an honor and a pleasure to be writing for the same site as you, Doc. Keep up the great work…and remember: “Take the time to consider the beauty of the world. Sit back and ponder the majesty of nature, all around you. And while you’re doing that…I’ll be over here, going through your stuff.”

Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Because I'm bored, here is a link to the one puro review and the handful of indy reviews I have done for TSM. Guest Garbage Man Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Dr Tom: Why are you still looking? There are plenty of reviewers for puro. The four on Smark Talk, Pegasus Kid posts here, and Chris Coey also posts here on a regular basis.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Baisden and Coey have their own sites, and may not want their work cross-posted. Also, just because someone writes for another site does not mean I (or Dames, since it's ultimately his call) think they'd be a good fit for TSM. I have to presume they don't want their work cross-poated, since neither indicated they were interested in the position. A few people did apply, and are being considered. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Very true, Tom. Plus, I don't think we need have any of the Smarks guys on staff anyway because we should have our own identity, not that of a "Smarks-Lite" crap site. Besides, we're doing well enough as it is. Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted January 7, 2003 I agree that someone should be covering puro for us, but Baisden is not the way to go. Having a writer that is exclusive to just TSM would be ideal.
