I know vince would push him to the moon because of his size, but do you think he could get over?

Yes. I don't think he would ever be a Rock, or Austin. But he would be entertaining.

how different is Bob Sapp from Mark Henry or Tank Abbot? What skills does Mr Sapp have in Japan that can be useful in WWE?

No, not Jim Neidhart. Bob Sapp!

And I've never seen him either, so I couldn't say. Supposedly he's supposed to be the next Vader

Bob Sapp is the fellow on the left. He's 6'5" and 400lbs, if this page is to be believed. Here's another picture that'll give you a better idea of his size:

WWE is not shooter friendly, just look what they did with Dan Severn.

big deal Bob Sapp is 400lbs of pure muscle but what can he do, can he talk, can he be anything other than fat bastard with the look?

He's a hoss.

Don't know if he has any speaking ability or wrestling ability.

He has become a massively huge superstar in Japan, but their tastes are more than a little different than ours.

but in Japan MMA and Wrestling are considered the same, right? I can respect him for his PRIDE work but question the crossover into Sports Entertainment.

Considered the same, I don't know about that, but there is MUCH more overlap between the fanbases than there is here. A guy who does well in Pride or K-1 will immediately be more popular in pro wrestling, and vice versa.

He's supposed to have some charisma, from what I've heard.

I know the puro folder has a lot more on him, so somebody venture into the dungeon and dig us up some facts.

Character-wise, he's a little cartoony for my tastes, but I think he'd fare pretty well in WWE.

He has a goofy charisma about him. He cut a promo on Thunder once, with some blonde interviewer who they only had for one show (no, I'm not thinking of Pamela Paulshock). Oh, he's also got one hell of a laugh.

It's not so much of an overlap in fans as it is a sign of respect for guys who can hold their own.

Sapp has a lot of charisma and does well with the crowd. He's supposedly stepped his game up since starting pro-wrestling and is working more shooty now.

I think he could, I've never seen a match either (hell he's only had about 5 or so) but I think he has a presence about him

He's got a charisma about him. You expect him to kill people in the ring, but he's very likable outside it. But he got over in japan cause of the shoots, which he couldnt here. He really is brutal....he gave Ernesto Hoost (the #1 K1 guy pretty much) such a brutal overhand right in their first fight that he pretty much ended the fight with that one blow.

Sorry to change topic, but did you see that NATHAN JONES IS COMING thing on smackdown? How scary is that? Hes totally not ready.

I just hate that they keep using these bland boring names for everyone -- John Cena, Nathan Jones, Dave Batista... c'mon! Where's the creativity?!? Call him Nailz or something.

Back on topic... that Sapp guy is UGE!!!! (he's so huge, you can't fit the "H" on him...)

Well Sapp does a Top-Rope Diving Headbutt, which would imply he's at least somewhat mobile unlike Abbott and Fat Chocolate.

I downloaded on of his fights with Hoost, Sapp just flailed away while Hoost attacked Sapps leg effectively. At the end of the round after being given some time to catch his breath when Hoost was getting work done on a cut Sapp obliterated him with puches. Wrestling wise he's being compared to Brody.

He isn't coming to the WWE anytime soon, he isn't a hot commodity in the U.S. that'll draw immediately so Vince isn't going to spend alot on him. Sapp is huge in Japan and they'll pay him tons to keep him there.

I'd rather see Warren Sapp, because I like my massive violent Sapps field-tested before purchase.

That is what Bob Sapp does to people. :headbang:

Anyone else call for Sapp/HHH shootfight? :)

So he is an American wrestler in Japan wrestling?

And did WWE sign him?

Warren: PUT A SIGLET ON, PUT A SIGLET ON, PUT A SIGLET ON

Bob: ahahahahahaha /evil laugh

Wasn't he voted "rookie/wrestler of the year" in Japan or something like that?

Guest Slapnuts00

I was listning to Wrestling Observer Live and Meltzer seems to love the guy calling him a top runner for wrestler of the year...

I would love to see him in WWE. I think he would be much better as a face than as a heel. People will cheer for the guy no matter what.

Also, unlike other hosses, this guy won't get winded in 2 minutes. He lasted 2 rounds in a Pride match.
