Paul Stanley Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I was watching the news today, as a segment about fraud came up..and showed my grandfather's house(which is like, 4 houses next to mine) and that he was wanted for fraud. About a year ago(2001), he had some stuff he wanted to sell..so i got on ebay and sold it for him, and apparently he only sent about half of the stuff to it's destinations. Am i involved in this as well? because i used my username, address, email for the transactions? They have a "theft warrant" out for him. What about me? Right now me and him are talking to friend attorney of ours and we have to wait til Monday. This week just can't get any worse can it?
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 You'll be questioned, and possibly arrested, but not convicted of anything. You had nothing to do with whether he sent it out, there's nothing wrong with selling it for him.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 you're an accessory, dude, and you're gonna BURN IN HELL FOR...about...2 weeks, and then you're off to Connecticut
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Dude, this has been a crappy time for you. Don't feel obligated to help gramps -- he dragged you into this, get out of it while you can...
Guest DrTom Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 If they don't have a warrant out for you yet, it's unlikely they'll get one. Of course, you'd be an accessory in the case, and it's certainly in your best interests to guarantee your own legal safety. I'd let gramps twist in the wind, but that's just me. But if you cooperate and are up front about your role in the whole thing, then I doubt anything would happen to you, especially if it's clear you didn't know he was shafting the buyers.
