WWE house show results from Anaheim

January 4th, 2002

Report by Mike Nagel and Jeff Meacham

http://xtreme.themayhem.com/

Mike Nagel and Jeff Meacham attended tonight's WWE live event in Anaheim, California.

According to Jeff, almost the entire upper deck was empty and he estimated the attendance at around 4-5000 people. Jeff said it was the lowest attended show at the Arrowhead Pond that he has ever been to. Despite the small crowd, the fans were very much into the show.

#1 - Hurricane Helms defeated Rico with the shining wizard. Said to be a decent opener. Jeff yelled out at Rico and Rico yelled back at him.

#2 - Steven Richards defeated Spike Dudley with the double arm DDT, also known as the StevieT.

#3 - Lance Storm beat Tommy Dreamer with the sharpshooter. Storm kept the hold on Dreamer for several minutes until he finally tapped out.

#4 - The Dudleys beat Chris Nowiniski and D-Lo Brown. Nowinski didn't take the 3D properly, and Bubba ended up powerbombing him through the table, and it looked like Nowinski was injured. Bubba seemed to be legit pissed.

#5 - Booker T beat Chris Jericho is a NO DQ match with a rollup. Christian was in Jericho's corner, and after the match Christian and Jericho double teamed Booker, until The Rock made the save. The Rock got a total face reaction and gave the people's elbow and threw his shirt out to the crowd. Rock called Booker back to the ring and made Booker do the spinarooni.

After that, Rock did a rockarooni.

#6 - Victoria and Molly Holly defeated Trish Stratus and Jacqueline. Molly lost her pants during the match. Richards nailed Trish when she had Victoria rolled up and Victoria reversed the rollup and got the pinfall.

#7 - Howard Finkel introduced Stacy Keibler, who did her whole legs gimmick. Test defeated Raven with the big boot.

#8 - Kane defeated Rosie with the chokeslam. Nothing special.

#9 - Scott Steiner and Rob Van Dam defeated Triple H and Batista. HHH avoided getting in the ring with Steiner and HHH mocked Steiner during the match. They eventually brawled to the back. RVD reversed Batista's powerbomb and hit the five star frogsplash for the pinfall. RVD posed and walked to the back.

The Rock got by far the biggest face pop. Steiner, Booker T, and RVD were also very over with the crowd. HHH, Batista, Rico, and Steven Richards got the most heat for the heels.

Could he return to Raw on Monday to get the pop? Will he wait out the title picture on Smackdown? Or is this a one-time appearance until his real return?

Its a one time appearance I would imagine - remember the house show was in Anaheim - a 40min drive from Hollywood.

Unless RAW is in LA today, I do not see Rock appearing again with WWE until after Rumble.

I'm suprised Rock didn't show up at the shows in Hawaii because isn't he from there??

Raw is in Phoenix on Monday.

I don't get it either. Everyone at the Hawaii house shows were expecting him to show up.

Didn't he wrestle Y2J at a Hawaii house show this year or something?

Where exactly is The Rock from. We know he played for the BY GAWD Miami Hurricanes. He also is reported to have grown up in Pennsylvania, and also Samoa.

The most popular crossover star of our time, and we have no clue where he's really from.

He grew up in Hawaii, went to school in Miami- most likely trained in Pittsburgh and is Samoan.

Is that correct??

He was born in Hayward, California. His family moved to Hawaii when he was 8 years old.
