Guest AM The Kid Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 FUCK! I'm pretty sure its someone from this board too. Anyways, I had suspicions but today I found my documents "hidden" and when I made them unhidden this notepad thing came up on my desktop: ============================================================ r0xx pReSaNt$ W32.@YerH$.B (all r1ght$ re$erv3d.. ) w3 aRe tHe gRe@t 1nD1aN$.. ------------------------------------------------------ m@iN mIssIoN iS t0 sPreAd tHe nAmE @YerH$ s00 mUch t0 c0me.. iNclUdEd DDoS c0mp0neNtS c@usE oF sHiT p@kI l@meRs eXp3ct th3 uNeXp3ctEd dEdic@t3d t0 : mY b3$t fRi3nD ============================================================ >> [email protected] I dont know what the hell to do about this, I'm just hoping one of you guys will help me(and not screw me up more).
Guest MrRant Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Download a firewall. Either Zonealarm or Kerio (the one I use) It amazes me that some people don't use them.
Guest Flyboy Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Why do you think it was someone from here?
Guest AM The Kid Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I did, I was just reading up on Symantec that it's a worm that deletes your anti-virus and firewall.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Scan for viruses too. If you don't have a virus scanner go to either http://www.grisoft.com (a free virus scanner) or http://housecall.trendmicro.com (a free online virus scanner.) Also get Spybot Search and Destroy, it can remove some trojan horses.
Guest AM The Kid Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I just assumed it would be from here, because this is the only board that I post on and it has my email. I think I figured it out, downloaded a new firewall(thanks Rant), and I put Norton back on. Thank you guys, it's very much appreciated!
Guest C-Bacon Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 Dude, i've had the EXACT message twice now! and my hompage keeps re-directing to some hacker site! im in the process of trying to fix the problem. i;ll keep you posted if anything happens. please do so if you find a solution also [email protected]
Guest AM The Kid Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 I already figured it out, all is fixed. Look it up on the synmanac(sp?) site. I'm not gonna email you though.
