It seems that they would lead us to believe that for the first few years of RAW, nothing of note happened at all. I mean, isn't almost all of this from RAW is War, and beyond? Here we go...

If anything was quite a distance back in time, they'd just show it again, duh. I think that's the main point of the Raw Retros. Maybe secondly they are to hype up Austin's return.

 

Although I don't think TOO much happened on the first years on Raw.

That's a "Damned if you do..." choice. Since you have Jericho being champ for a few minutes, but then HHH getting it right back.

 

I'd take the Y2J Debut. I never marked out like that before until then, I don't think since.

Well the Monday Night RAW debut was before RAW IS WAR. And the Kid beats Razor....but those are the only 2.

What about Mankind destroying the Undertaker!? Or Ric Flair's career ending(HA!) match?

I kinda liked the classic ECW Invasion better than the second one.

 

Because back then, ECW was still with their good style.

 

PLUS the classic Heyman/Lawler commentating war.

 

And the Sandman making a rare WWF appearance.

Ah yes, in a program with HHH's girl, and then getting shit whenever he kicked her too stiffly, but yet she wanted to be treated like one of the boys.

 

And to think that was only the beginning...

Raven doing it to Tommy? Sort of, but Jericho was using a hammer. And yes, I loved it so much it is one of the few things I remember about long term Raws.

 

Hmm--was this before HHH started using the sledge?

 

That reminds me of when HHH smashed the casket Rock was in while he was in the Corporation still.

I think the 1-2-3 Kid thing is a must on this list, because quite frankly, it IS one of the most classic moments on RAW, at least in my opinion.

What is this obsession with the DX invades WCW stuff? I'd hardly call that a memorable Raw moment, just a bunch of guys screwing around. The Nation skit was much better.

 

I voted for Foley's title win.

It's probably more Raw Is War stuff just because that was when they had better stuff coming out. When anyone says something is missing it's usually a Raw is War moment. What would you want them to put from pre RIW? Diesel saying he'll only slap your hand if it has a black glove on it?

I picked Y2J's debut, because at the time I marked out hoping it would turn him into a huge superstar. Everyone has made him their bitch, but he still gets good heel heat and he was the first undisputed champion... so it WAS a good move for him.
