Guest Mole Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Well, what do you wanna do? Dream job would be a booker for a wrestling promotion. If that doesn't happen, either a cameraman or police officer. What about you fellas?
Guest Incandenza Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Absorb Bill Cosby's life energy. Failing that, a teacher.
Guest SP-1 Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I'm going to college this fall to study Pastoral Ministry and Video Production. While I will likely wind up behind the pulpit sooner or later, I feel my call lies in spreading the gospel through drama/entertainment. And not just spreading the gospel. But pet project is a series of books dealing with an issue of Christian living in a dramatic setting. So yeah. That's what I think my life will amount to. I'd like to get married and have some kids along the way, too.
Guest DrTom Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 As for my real career, I'm already doing that (I work in the IT field for the US government). For my side career, I've always wanted to be a published novelist. And in the past year, I've made more progress toward that goal than I ever have before.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Tough question. Right now I'm just sort of an aimless slacker, I work at a record store, play in a band. I'm 20 years old, and I know I should be doing more with my life. I should go to college. I just really don't know what I want to do.
LaParkaYourCar Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Eventually I will go back to get my Masters in Family Therapy and become a Counselor, but since I can't afford Grad School right now I want to Illustrate Children's books in the meantime.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 What do you want to do with your life? I wanna rock! *que cheesey 80's Twisted Sister video*
LaParkaYourCar Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 What do you want to do with your life? I wanna rock! *que cheesey 80's Twisted Sister video* I was thinking the same thing!! But you gotta say it like "WHAT DO YOOOOU WANT TO DOOOOO WITH YOURRRRRR LIFE!!!"
Guest bob_barron Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I'm going to school for journalism right now and my goal is to be a journalist in sports whether it be broadcasting or print. It's always been a dream of mine
Guest Angle Armbar Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I'm some person that posts on message boards all day. I'm not allowed to give any more information.
Guest The Superstar Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Pharmacist, or something related in the medical field.
Guest RobJohnstone Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 well, sonce my career in the IT field isn't looking so good. I am trying to get the money together to go to college and then law school. If that works out then I would like to run for office. Maybe one day I will be Gov. Rob Johnstone from the great state of Pennsylvania. --Rob
Guest EricMM Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I'd like to teach Highschool English. I'd also like to write a really good book somehow.
Guest Texas Small Arms 09 Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Well as for now I'm working for a training company that deals with Fortune 500 companies worldwide. But what I do plan on doing is writing and producing a drama movie. Basically the plot is a wide ride through a difficult relationship with everything that could go wrong, will go wrong. And no movie of mine will be made up, all will be based on real life events, names will be changed to protect the innocent though.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Right now, I'm planning on being a high school English teacher, but I'm showing sparks of interest in social work, along the lines of substance abuse counseling. Should I be unable to obtain a worthwhile position in either of those fields, there are enough businesses in my family (bakeries, restaurants and a nightclub currently) that I could get involved in.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 let's see graduate school, getting my phd...teaching in college going into business for myself on the side...probably end up running a club with a friend marriage and kids would be a definite plus but really, what do i control eh? not in my hands
Guest Angle-plex Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 My dream job would be something with Martial arts/boxing. I'll probably end up being a lawyer or a vet or something.
Guest Some Guy Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I don't know what I want to do but I could see myself in politics or being a salesman of some sort. I'm a shady bastard.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Well, my dream job when I get out of the Navy would be video game design, but I'll probably end up either doing something in the IT field, or working in telecommunications. EDIT - D'oh!
Guest Matt Young Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Man, I just have to say this- I saw your pic today and I've noticed a lot more of your posts, and you are one badass motherfucker, Slim. As for my dream job, I've always wanted to be a game designer like Mr. Citrus mentioned. My main aspirations, however, are to be a musician and a professional wrestler. I'm already halfway to my dreams on both, actually. I'm in wrestling school now, and I have been in bands, play various instruments, and have released 1 CD. As far as reliable careers go, I don't know. That's why I didn't start college right after high school. I figure something journalism or computer related would be thing, but I just don't know.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Now that you mention it, I had briefly dreamed about getting out in '99 to train to be a professional wrestler. My fucking bitch ex-wife talked me into re-enlisting, though. As it is, I'll be past thirty when I get out now. I know it's been done, but I don't want to be starting at the bottom of the business that late in life.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 History teacher, probably on the high school level, then college level. Around my mid-30s, I shall venture into politics. As side projects, I'll write something eventually. I get too many ideas to not write. However, as much as I want to teach, I seem to be born to entertain. Something about a group of people makes me want to perform. Maybe I'll be a stand-up comedian or actor. Now that I think about it, actor would be ideal. Ah shit, never mind. The plan for THIS VERY MOMENT is to teach history. I hate being so damn torn.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Now that I think about it, something in sales, advertising or politics would be good for me. I'm a very convincing liar and I can stab people in the back like nobody's business if I have to. Only problem is I don't look particularly trustworthy.
Guest Insanityman Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 My dream is to become a writer- or, I have little hope, find a small Fight Club where I can get some dough from winning. I guess I could be a terrible politician since I can lie and backstab, but I'm not quite intelligent enough.
Guest TUS_02 Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I'd like to have a morning radio talk show. Kinda like Stern, but not that obscene. I'd also like to do something in film... doesn't matter if it's on-screen or off-screen
Guest godthedog Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 As for my real career, I'm already doing that (I work in the IT field for the US government). For my side career, I've always wanted to be a published novelist. And in the past year, I've made more progress toward that goal than I ever have before. oh my god...dr tom is the cigarette-smoking man! i want to make movies. the great thing about that is when you decide to make movies, you get to pick a whole other career at the same time, this time one that actually earns you money. so i'll probably stay in academia, teaching film or philosophy at a college and making little films on the side. i just finished shooting a quasi-feature length project that's about the length of a b-movie (it'll probably end up being an hour long) that i should finish editing by spring break. i'm excited.
Guest Sassquatch Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 My dream job is to be on orthodontist. Growing up, my parents never had any flexibility in their hours and the pay that they both earned barely was enough to pay for all the bills and we always struggled with that. I want a job where I can set my own hours and take off any amount of time I need to along with a job that pays extremely well. I have always been fascinated with the mouth and the parts that make it up and it just seemed like a good fit. I am currently working on becoming an apprentice to an already established orthodontist down here in my town and I have some time to go before I can break out on my own. My current job is working at a children's day care in which I'm pretty much the head guy as far as giving out the schedules/orders of the week to the other day care workers in the building. I also get to answer to the front office if/when something goes wrong and that is pure Hell at times. But I have teriffic hours right now along with a steady paycheck so I have no complaints. It also doesn't hurt that I went to the same day care I'm working at when I was younger and has helped me out considerably with the front office since the same people still run it.
