How cool would this be

Bear with me with this one because i am sure that you will like it.

 

With the nWo angle going down the pan quickly and the only redeeming feature of it being the rock vs hogan, vince mcmahon is desperately looking for something big to happen at wrestlemania to regain interest in the product again.  This is how it could go.

 

First of all, in the scott hall vs austin match (which would probably be third from the top of the card) we see nash and hall beat up austin real bad.  They destroy because on smackdown the night before vince made it a No DQ match.  They destroy him.  He is left lying for dead almost.  The near the end of the match GOLDBERG comes running out and helps out austin stomp a mudhole into hall and nash.  They do not look like a tag team or anything, but we have seen the return of goldberg and he is already a major babyface.  This would need to be done third from the top and would also make sense as it would even up the odds of babyfaces vs the nWo as triple H is in the main event with Jericho, (notice I said the Main Event).  This would also liven up what looks like being a bad match after what we have seen of scott hall already.

 

We then have the hogan vs rock match which goes pretty uneventfully because hall and nash are too beat up to do anything and rock carries hogan to a good ***+ hopefully, which will go some way to living up to the hype of this being the biggest match of all time and hopefully we get what is a clean finish of sorts with the rock going over.  I still think that hoan is capable of another good match (and lets not have any jokes about, for him to have ANOTHER good match he needs to have had a good match in the past) and rock is just the sort of person who could drag a good match out of hogan.  He carried rikishi to a *** match for god's sake.

 

Then we have the main event.  JR and lawler have been building this up all night and finally we have.  Although it has looked like a HHH vs steph fued so far, somehow on raw and smackdown this week they have really done a good job building it up and there is real genuine heat between HHH and jericho for this match.   They both come out and are given around 25 - 35 minutes for the both of them to put on a classic ****+ match that we know they are capable of.  The crowd are really into this match and it is clearly an early MOTY candidate already.  This is the bit where you will have to bear with me.  It is near the end of the match and suddenly we see the nWo come out and start beating up on both men, (believe me there is a  reason for this) they beat up both, who are already tired after a gruelling match when all of a sudden we see the three main babyfaces come out and even the odds.  With jericho and triple H still out of it on the mat we have a brawl pitting Goldberg, SCSA, rock VS the nWo.  It goes on for a couple of minutes and hebner throws it out and calls it a no contest.  both jericho and HHH are up and HH is going mad, he is beating up hebner and anyone who is near him.  He then goes to hit jericho but stops himself.  The two men look at each other and then start beating up the three faces.  The nWo join inand we have a five on three attack.  Jericho is still the champ and he and triple H have joined the nWo.  The crowd is going crazy and we have scenes reminiscent of when hogan defected back in WCW.  The closing image of this years wrestlemania is the new 5 man nWo standing over the three fallen faces and JR sells it like the business will never be the same again. WOW.

 

This would be great as it breathe life into the WWF again.  It would be so interesting to see happen. It would create so many new storyline possibilities.  The nWo would look cool again and also look like a serious threat with two of the WWF's top guys on their books, and also we would see goldberg in a WWF ring.  It would also really get jericho over.  The only thing i am not sure about is what to do with  steph, perhaps HHH could pedigree her near the start of the match so that she has to go to the back on a stretcher leaving them to have a good match.

 

What do all of you think of this idea?

Your story has shock value but I don't wanna see goldberg. The WWF wouldn't know how to market him either.

The rest of the story is pretty much like the nonsensical swerves and double-crosses that we've grown accustomed to. At least you are trying to think of something creative instead of the crap the writers are coming with.

Too many swerves for a WrestleMania. gave me flashbacks to WM XV. Something along those lines might be interesting for a shakeup on the Raw after, when they usually have rematches.

Who knows the WWFmight have more horrible bad swerves at the actual event and in hindsight I may be wishing for this scenario. All i know is i pay that 40.00 on WM sunday to be a mark. I want good matches and no "wink-wink" swerves. A surprise is good or somebody turning as long as it makes sense. But that weekend is mark out weekend. ill watch some tapes and even check out the horrible indy in a local town (featuring Road Dogg, who will of course no show).

I know theyve added something to the requirements along the lines of "product knowledge a plus" but cmon it should be a must and they are just adding that now?!?!?

Maybe there would be a few too amany swerves but I think that those ideas would probably be better than what we will probably see on the night itself.  I would apply for a job on the WWF creative team but it would awkward commuting everyday seeing as I live in london, england.

No goldberg, no Steiner, and I'm happy. Well actually I'm not, cos wrestling is currently fairly lame n all. But I don't see the need for either guy or anyone else if they want to get the people over they have now (eg first ever undisputed champion going into Wrestlemania Chris Jericho, or Perry 'Jobber Killer' Saturn).

Why dont they just make their own Goldberg out of Saturn?

The character is supposed to be crazy anyway, why not have him snap and just kill everybody one by one in the ring. fans would take him seriously if he was portrayed as such. he;s got the tools to deliver in the ring. And he's already under contract!!

Goldberg coming back would be ok, but having him laid out on his 1st night in the promotion isn't that great IMO.  Jericho in the nWo as champ would cauase him to be even more lost in the shuffle, he would be the #3 or #4 heel in the WWF.  

If they bring Goldberg back he should come out on the Raw after Mania and take out nWo ans then have him squash any thing that moves until his big PPV matches, where he needs to win at least 3 in a row.  His credibility was so damaged by WCW after Nash beat him.

 

Then after they've gotten all the nWo shit out of their system, thun him heel and feud him with Rock and Austin and HHH.

Good post with the WM ideas. I dont know that they would pan out necessarily but i bet it could be good for business if they were to do it...on any other show that Wrestlemania.

I think it's a terrible idea. No one cares about Goldberg any more. It's similar to Survivor Series 98. Too many swerves. Most people would be annoyed by the end of it. I prefer what's happening now.

Funny thing is ... if this actually happened, people might be excited at first, but I think they'd quickly start a bunch of topics about how much this will suck.  Yet almost everyone seemed to be in favor of it.

 

Just an observation. Could always be wrong.

 

And I think like the idea really sucks, by the way.  I wouldn't normally be so mean, but you pretty much guaranteed my satisfaction.  Try harder next time!

I have no idea. I just see the flyers all over the 4 neighboring towns I drive through to come here to work. I just chuckle at the fact of advertising him in HUGE LETTERS  and then him not being there.
