Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Hey has anyone else encountered this problem with SD4!? When you get off of HEAT in season mode everything gets really hard!? I mean not only do they put you in stupid matches that are almost impossible to beat but the difficulty level seems to jump up a level. I got to a part where I was fighting SD!(i'm on RAW). And I kept having to fight William Regal. He seems to be able to counter anything I try and the bastard never gets beat up. I pound on him and he just jumps up and counters everything or hits me when I try to pick him up. Then he does like 3 moves and my guy can barely stand and acts like he's been shot. OH MY GOD IT'S ANNOYING! Then it put me in this ridiculous 6-Man tornado tag and what does the ENTIRE other team do!? Ignore everybody else and gang up on me!!!! Why is this so freaking stupid and annoying!? And why's it so fucking hard!? Anybody else encountered these annoying problems!?
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Here's my tip for you. Use a run and hit strategy. Run at your opponent and use your running attack (preferably a clothesline or any move doesn't put you on the ground). Keep doing this for a while. Eventually, you'll wear them down to the point where you can start using grappling maneuvers. This strategy has worked for me as I've never lost a singles match and the only time I lose a tag team match is when my partner gets pinned.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 7, 2003 I shall try that then.......
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Yeah, I had a lot of trouble in tag matches and against guys like Rock, Taker, Austin, etc., the big name guys who are able to effortlessly string together lots of moves and keep me on the ground for a couple minutes. Shattered Dreams's strategy works, I started doing something like that. Keep attacking, don't wait for the opponent to attack. Eventually you'll get the timing on the counters right and everything will go well. Also, when your opponent is on the ground, don't grapple him all the time. Drop a few elbows on him, stomp him as much as you can, then the next time he goes down try a grapple. Don't go for the grapple every time because the computer will counter it. With tornado tags, just try to concentrate on one guy the best you can and wear him down. Break up the pins. If the opponent puts a submission on a computer teammate, beat up the ref so he won't see the tap-out.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted January 7, 2003 Oh yeah, one last thing on tornado tags - when you're about to pin an opponent, make sure his buddies are tied up with your teammates or are too far away to break up the pin.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 7, 2003 For whatever reason, I found Brock and Rock to be unstoppable monsters as Benoit, and Austin was barely beatable. Then the difficulty ramped up to the point where I was jobbing to Jeff Friggin' Hardy. Then I tried a season as Kurt Angle and whipped all kinds of BUTT. *shrug*
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2003 For whatever reason, I found Brock and Rock to be unstoppable monsters as Benoit, and Austin was barely beatable. Then the difficulty ramped up to the point where I was jobbing to Jeff Friggin' Hardy. Then I tried a season as Kurt Angle and whipped all kinds of BUTT. *shrug* Rock is nearly impossible to beat using any strategey. But it can be done. I've beaten Austin without much trouble. I've never fought Brock. Jericho is mega easy to beat. I defeated him in 1:35 seconds using an Edge-o-matic. King of the world my ass!
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted January 7, 2003 I can pretty much kick everyone's ass in a 1 on 1 environment. Even tag's, all you have to do is beat up the 1 guy mercilessly, never let him tag and just make him submit. Everyone taps to the ankle lock! Even Brock or Rock after like 4 minutes. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 8, 2003 Yeah it's frustrating that when a submission finisher is put on you, you give up no matter what. The targeting system is a little screwy. I find myself having to pound the controller to get them to switch who they're targeting. I've been getting my ass handed to me, and these f'n interpromotional matches are nothing but tag matches and elimination matches. That's it! I'm creating a wrestler who has like iron recovery and strong attacks to whip some ass with. Oh yeah and he'll be a heavyweight, but he'll be fast as hell and have powerful moves. Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted January 8, 2003 I despise how you go for a grapple and your wrestlers hands GO THROUGH your opponent then your met with the rock hard fist of the guy your opposing. ARGH!! However, after being royally screwed as RVD & Jericho i though 'Screw this!' and began as Triple H in season... I am still undefeated... Make your own asumptions on THAT one UYI
Guest Ram Report post Posted January 8, 2003 RVD's kicks mean absolute shit. On the plus side, I've beaten everybody using the frogsplash.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 8, 2003 Yes it's annoying when you go to grapple and they just knock you out. But this is by far the best SD game there is.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 8, 2003 God this is frustrating. I hate how you pin them and they kick out but whenever they pin you they seem to get a 3 no matter what. And my character spends entirely to much time laying on the ground recovering, When they're knocked down they pop right back up.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Damn....no matter how frustrated I get I still play this game. It's addicting as hell. What the fuck do I have to do to get a title shot!? I have like a Star Power of 91 and he's still like "I'm to busy to talk to you!" And for the love of god how am I supposed to beat UT and Kane in a Handicap match!? No mortal can accomplish this feat!
Guest papacita Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Brock always seemed pretty easy to me. Rock, on the other hand, whoops my ass with those punches. Towards the end of season mode, I was able to dominate him with Booker T though. BTW, does anyone know how to climb on the Titantrons/PPV sets?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 9, 2003 I dunno. It's much harder to do this as a created wrestler. Real superstars have better recovery but a created superstar will lay there forever, no matter how high I make his defense!
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted January 9, 2003 I dunno. It's much harder to do this as a created wrestler. Real superstars have better recovery but a created superstar will lay there forever, no matter how high I make his defense! Every since I found out that the square button counters (makes a quicker kick out) the pin, I haven't been defeated. As a CAW that is. And yes, both Rock and Brock are like the unsellers that they aren't. I mean, my God, they no sell half of the crap I throw at them. Weird thing is though, I became Test and fought both of them with such ease it wasn't funny. No, I'm not kidding. I won the Undisputed Title from Rock and defended it against Brock and won both matches. *sighs* Then I lost it to Angle, as I pissed off Austin by saying Angle was #1 contender. Can someone say "screw job"?
Guest papacita Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Speaking of screwjobs, right before I finished my season with Booker the other day, I had a match with Rock and the Undertaker came out from to interfere. When I saw him coming, I bailed out to the floor, grabbed a chair and hit *TAKER*...and I got DQ'd! WTF???!
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted January 9, 2003 BTW, does anyone know how to climb on the Titantrons/PPV sets? Smackdown is pretty tricky. Go to the far left part of the stage where there is a crack, or ripple effect, going upwards. Walk towards it and press triangle and your wrestler should climb like a rabbit on viagra all the way to the Smackdown Fist. Hope you understood that. As for PPV's, i only know of King of the Ring. The chair is quite easy to climb. Just walk in the direction of one of the chair legs (front on as always) and press triangle. The fist is the best though, i NEVER get tired of throwing Jeff Hardy off the top of that. UYI
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted January 10, 2003 The fist is the best though, i NEVER get tired of throwing Jeff Hardy off the top of that. UYI Then as RVD use the 5 Star Frog Splash on him! God, I had a lot of fun when I hit that for the pin. Although, I got up thinking I won the hardcore title in that timed match, yet just after that, with only seconds ticking away, I lost to Test as he hit me with a Big Boot as I got up. The bloody bastard got the pin with 1 second left on the clock. That was such an upset for me. I mean, I had almost defended my title 10 times. Dammit. Guest BillyTheStud Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Is it better to play as a no-seller like Triple H and The Rock than a superpowered CAW? I made a supposedly unstoppable hoss with tons of awsome moves that got absolutely punked out by Chris Benoit in his 1st Smackdown match.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Yes CAW's get the sh*t kicked out of them pretty easily. Oh well I can't wait until I win the 30 extra aptitude points. I need those!
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted January 10, 2003 So far, the main guys that I've noticed whose unbalanced (and, hence, a tank to use for career to unlock crap) are Triple H and the Undertaker. Past those two guys, you're going to have to learn the intracacies of the 100 running clotheslines, as mentioned earlier.
Guest raptor Report post Posted January 10, 2003 I'm playing as The Hurricane, and he owns all the big buys. I've never lost to The Undertaker (who I've wrestled like eight times). Brock is the only problem, as he shrugs off the Shining Black and Jumping Clotheslines, essential to playing as the Hurricane (you ave to hit and run a lot). Guest J*ingus Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I played as a CAW, and got completely jobbed out and 0wned by everyone from William Regal on down. So I gave that up and picked Austin instead, and I've gotten beaten a few times with him too (there is NO way except for incredible blind luck to hang onto your title in a 6-man Hell in a Cell match). The difficulty level on the game is way too high, I'm having lots of trouble beating the lowliest guys on even the easiest difficulty mode while being the top guys myself. Guest Dace59 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 There is NO way except for incredible blind luck to hang onto your title in a 6-man Hell in a Cell match It's very easy to win. SUBMISSIONS SUBMISSIONS SUBMISSION! Just keep using them, can't be broken up, and if the person is gonna tap, you're gonna win. I've won many times this way. They say getting someone to follow you to the top of the cell and pin them up their works too.
Guest Renegade Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Yeah I just use jericho and use the walls to get the win.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I finally won the title! And in a 6-Man Hell in a Cell with a pinfall no less! I was on top of the cell and everyone else was either fighting beside the cell on the outside or on top. A lot of people were actually down. So I go and I DDT Angle on top of the cell and we both go through! I saw my good fortune as nobody was anywhere close to being in the ring so I pinned him! HAHAHAHA! Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 12, 2003 Oh man........this is great. I get to relive the horrible "I'm gonna lay the smackdown on his crippled ass!" with my create-a-wrestler! And then Rock/Hogan only with my wrestler! And I whipped his ass!
