Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Has anyone else indulged in this senseless, yet cuddly violent book?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 I have the trade paperback...funny shit. Another one of those indy comics that somehow got wildly popular, thus first printings of the early issues are insanly high priced. I love the one where they pick a guy out of the phone book and go kick his ass and burn his office down.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Yeah, I saw another one, where they choose a random victim, ask him a bunch of obscure trivia questions, and punish him for his ignorance. Any word on new M and C adventures??
Guest converge241 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 no there isnt any word but a new Dork ops up occasionally w/ Myron the living voodoo doll et all MERV GRIFFIN!!! MERV GRIFFIN!!!
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Dork was also a good book... Kool Aid man in Tahiti- LOL!
Guest areacode212 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Evan Dorkin's comics may be an acquired taste. I remember reading some Milk & Cheese stories a few years ago, and I didn't really enjoy them. But when I was boxing up some of my collections a couple of weeks back, I came across that "World's Funnest" comic he did (the one with Mr. Mxyptlk & Bat-Mite), and thought it was absolutely hilarious, even though I hated it when I first bought it. I may have to give M&C another shot.
Guest converge241 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 world's funnest OWNS simply because of Captain Carrot
Guest Sassquatch Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Chris Farley and David Spade would have been perfect for the roles of Milk & Cheese if a movie was ever made with them in it. Captain Carrot, Milk & Cheese, and Co. are an acquired taste for most fans (ala Cerebus) due to the content matter along with the stories which go against the status quo. I thought Dorkin's work would have at least earned him more press than what he received back when the books came out but unfortunately his books came out during a time when the Independent publishers were booming.
Guest HellSpawn Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I only got one Wizard strip from a few years ago, funny book. BUT, still didnt made me rise the phone and order the book.
Guest Sassquatch Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 Wizard can cause a lot of people to not buy books. Just saying.
