Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted March 9, 2002 This is the same stuff we went through last year with WCW II when house shows were being promoted, then pushed back, pushed back some more, untill the whole darn thing of a "second tourning company" idea was shelved for what we saw starting on that Atlanta Raw in July. Something tells me these house show dates were getting lukewarm reactions, like "why should we care about this show if WWF is doing a live Raw somewhere else, plus its on TV" Steve
Guest converge241 Report post Posted March 9, 2002 Yeah you have to wait until you actually see it happen with the split (and the cruiserweight division). I cant imagine that a lot of people would be thrilled with a house show over watching a bigger event show on TV, but you never know. They should have just planned on one crew working friday- monday and the other working thurs - sunday(minus the ppv day of course and the other crew could have one friday off per month)
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 9, 2002 I think it's a good sign this time. I think running house shows and TV at the same time is stupid. The idea is Thursday-Sunday and a Friday-Monday running companies. That means the day they split, the whole roster should be there for whatever angles that die that day and whichever ones are re-born, plus whatever "draft" they shoot. I think a draft would work really well. A bunch of people get picked later and become bitter. There's some of your heels.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted March 9, 2002 I'm glad they are taking their time with this and not rushing it. If that means there are a few delays and push backs, power to them. for now anyway
Guest mastermind Report post Posted March 9, 2002 This is a good sign guys. Last year they rushed the wcw enity and we saw where that went. It was also stupid to have a house show running against RAW. Why PAY to see an event when you can watch it live on tv. I think they wanted the nitro/raw effect of the "franchises" battling on the same night, but it's not televised which I think was the problem. As I said before they will need more than 1 or 2 tv shows to explain this internal change to the programming.
