Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 8, 2003 Favorites ======= Tom Jackson Stuart Scott Chris Berman Max Kellerman Least favorite (the real reason I made this thread) ==================================== Sean Salisbury -- Every week, this dumbass says or does something that makes me want to just turn the TV off. First of all, how simple are his "breakdowns" of NFL games. Here's a sample: "If you see here [PAUSE] Peyton Manning throws the ball. Now he wants to hit Marvin Harrison, but [PAUSE] as you can see, he throws it up here." Then he'll draw a little circle around the ball. Who couldn't do that? Also, he is really cocky and talks a lot of shit for someone who never made it past "decent backup" status as an NFL QB.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted January 8, 2003 Favs: Stuart Scott, Christ Mortenson(sp?) Craig Kilbourne(back in the day) Least Favs: Chris Berman(it's getting old) Merril Hoge,.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted January 8, 2003 Tim Hardaway sucked bad on the NBA telecasts, but I noticed that for the past few weeks he's been gone and Gary Anthony has been on. Did Hardaway get fired or something? I hope so. Speaking of, I was curious so I ran a search on Google for a Tim Hardaway fan site or something to see if it said why he wasn't on there anymore. Lo and behold a site came up called something like Homosexual Sports Fan page. And there were pictures of Tim Hardaway naked in the locker room all over it. Didn't exactly answer my question but it was interesting. haha

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 8, 2003 Favorites: Michael Wilbon. Tony Kornheiser. "I'm Back For More Cash" is a great read, BTW. Kenny Mayne. Woody Paige. He's not employed by ESPN, though... Hated: BOB RYAN. Again not an ESPN employee. but he's the apex of everything evil and annoying, he should be on this list. Stuart Scott. Max Kellerman. If he stuck to boxing, he would be on the list above.

Guest undisputedjericho Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Like Wilbon/Kornhieser - Well rounded funny guys Tim Kurkjian - He really seems to know the game Dave Campbell - Likewise Jon Miller - Likewise Linda Cohn - Coolness Don't Peter Gammons - Constantly just pulls trades out of thin air that he thinks are going to happen, and always puts his Bosox over anyone else, especially the Yankees. The guy won't stop about how great Boston is. Indifferent Berman - Can be funny/annoying
Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Favorites are: Gammons Harold Reynolds Kurkjian Stark As well as the 2 broadcast types who usually lead baseball tonight. The baseball tonight promos make them my favorite announcers, also the fact that baseball owns all other sports helpls.

Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Who's Mike Patrick? He's the play-by-play guy for the ESPN Sunday Night Football games w/ Joe Theisman and Paul McGuire. The straight-man, if you will.

Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Does anyone remember Mark Jones? He used to host The NBA Today on ESPN a few years ago. I think he still does some college basketball play-by-play for someone. Anyway, Mark Jones was Stuart Scott before Stuart Scott came along. He was just, like, three times worse. That man was CORNY. Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Favorites: - Kenny Mayne. Where the hell has he been lately? - John Buccigross. Funny, knows at least something about hockey - Barry Melrose. Outdated humor, but he knows his stuff - Darren Pang. His "I'm a horrible goalie!~!!LOL~!!" act is getting old, but he's smart. - Tim Kurkjian. Knows his stuff - Dave Campbell. Same as Kurkjian. - Don't know if they count, but Gary Thorne and Bill Clement are my favorite announcers in any sport. Oh, and Kornheiser and Wilbon are great. Hate: - Stuart Scott. Maybe it's the fact that I can't understand a fucking thing that he's talking about, or that he looks like a complete tool, but I can't even watch a show with him on it anymore. - Dan Patrick. He was funny, but then he kept doing the same schtick over and over, and it got old. (See: Berman, Chris) - Kevin Frazer. Stuart Scott-lite - Rich Eisen. Not funny, never was. Indifferent: - Peter Gammons. He's extremely boring to listen to, but he knows a good deal of what he's talking about. - Jayson Stark. Or, Mr. Stat Guy. Instead of giving a logical reason why the Reds have lost three in a row, it's "Oh, they're hitting only .102 with runners in scoring position at 4:25 PM on odd numbered days!" Prick. - Rob Dibble. He's funny on the radio, but on TV, he looks like a thug. - Linda Cohn. She knows her stuff, but her catchphrases are confusing. Not to mention, she's been around since the fucking turn of the century.
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Dan Patrick is the only one that I can even semi-stand. He's ok on tv but I hate his radio show.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted January 10, 2003 John Clayton rules, totally.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Dan Schulman and Buck Martinez work for ESPN now, don't they? They rule the school.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I'm surprised nobody mentioned Suzy Kolber, she's pretty hot! On the flip side, Pam Ward may be the ugliest non-obese woman I've ever seen on tv.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Oh I forgot to mention: John Clayton....he gets on my nerves.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Speaking of ugly, how about Len Elmore? He's the big guy who does color commentary and used to play basketball at Maryland or Indiana, I forgot which. Rich Eisen is cool now, but I hated him when he first came to ESPN and he would do that stupid, "He shoots, he SCORES!" thing during hockey highlights. The "SCORES" part was said with a Urkel-ish high tone. Fortunately he stopped.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 14, 2003 Eisen is all teleprompter. He did a Twins-Rangers game last Memorial Day, and he had no clue about any of the players, and didn't know how to call a game. Mark Jones does CFB with Bob Davie on ESPN. Tell me that Buccigross and Richard Roeper don't look the same.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 15, 2003 They should let Ray "Sweet sassy molassy" Romano do a Sportscenter one time. Anyway, I kind of get annoyed with John Clayton, Curry Kirkpatrick and Jeremy Schapp. I especially hate how Schapp is like: "Reporting from Cleveland................Jeremy Schapp.............ES....PN." Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 16, 2003 I still remember Bobby Knight rightfully bitching out Jr. Schapp for not letting him finish his answers. Good times!
