Just Thinking

Recommended Posts

Guest Lightning Flik

It's the middle of the night, and I get all sorts of my most craziest and zaniest ideas right about now.

Well, I'm just tossing out an idea as I can't take any stupid pain killers to get rid of the pain I feel in my knees. So here's the idea:

Should we ever have the need of having to find new blood for the SJL/SWF, why don't we just join an interfed?

No particular reason the question is asked, I just need something to pass the time. Morning is only, oh, four hours away. And besides, this board has been declared dead lately, so I thought I'd spice it up.

Though I can probably field a pretty good guess, what, pray tell, is an interfed?

Completely unemmersed in the rest of the e-fed world.

*sighs* I hate answering questions. Cause I suck with explanations.

Considering I can't seem to describe it right, I'll compare it to something else.

An Interfed is kinda like the NHL (or whatever sports organization you want to call it) and the SWF would become a "team" in it. And pretty much, if you know how any sports organization, ya can kinda get the idea.

That's pretty much all I really know about them. I could go into details, but it really depends on the interfed on what details.

P.S.

And yes, the SWF literially compete against other feds for ratings. And yes, the interfed would rate SWF against other feds. Yet, considering who's all here in SWF, I can definitely say that SWF would be #1 or #2 in rankings.

And to add:

Being in an interfed allows us to also grabbed people from their free agent pool. Which would be like a transfusion for the SWF should we need it.

Problem: most interfeds are RP based and are quick failures.

I think this is great in theory, but more than likely disastrous in practice.

Yes. Probably the worst of problems. Longevity, but look hard enough and ye shall find one that's been around for a while. I think I found one that's been around for awhile, and I'm researching it.

And yes, most feds are RPs. I found it quite disturbing when I had to search through 50 (ok, it was more like 25) pages of e-feds before I found the first one that wasn't. And that was SWF.

So yes, there are problems. Yet, it's just an idea I'm throwing out for discussion. Just trying to bring something to the table.

Actually, I'd be willing to bet SWFers can tool most RPers in their own game... right, Edwin?

Who's to say the SWF have to? I mean, really, SWF is unique, and I don't want to cost it that.

Yeah. I've searched and I've NEVER found a match-writing fed. It's what seperates us from everyone out there. So we could lose a few to RPs, but I think in the long run we will gain many more.

Yeah. I've been doing a bit in Cast's RP fed, and they're frickin' bad. I could top 90% of the roster with a promo written in an hour, and so could almost everyone here. But the match-writing is the unique SWF dealie...so I'm not sure how it would gel.

You sure as hell aren't going to get guys from an RP fed to write 6000 word matches...not on any large scale, at least.

Well geez... Anyone who joins would first go into the SJL, Edwin.

Don't forget that it'd be 3000-5000 words at most. So I think all we need to do to help them out, is to encourage them, and help them become better writers.

Flik has decided to mark for Annie instead of the Silent One?

Fucking kids have no respect nowadays...

Oh bloody hell. I'm not even active. If I was, I would have to take that mark for Annie of my sig (as I might end up competiting against her someday in the forseeable future and me marking for her while I compete against her wouldn't be a good thing for me for my chances to win) and replace it with something else.

But besides! We are talking about interfeds! Anywoo, still, I think that SWF could join up one. The one I'm checking on (all I've done, mind you) looks pretty stable with about 5+ feds in it. And currently growing from the looks of it. I'll check further into it.

Yet, SWF really might benefit from joining one. I mean, SWF bring the interfed the prestige of having the only known match writing fed (and/or probably the longest running), and the interest will follow.

Usually, I would cane you, but you're not technically a leaguer anymore.

...

::canes Flik::

And I think the interfed thing has potential as far as recruits go, though it's anyone's guess how well your average RPer would adjust to matchwriting. All the same, it's publicity, and we can always use more of that.

*rubs the back of his head from the cane smashing me*

...what is with everyone? I come back to these boards for two days, and already I've been nutbustered and caned. I mean really. Come on. Be nice.

*about to do the "I'll get you in the end speech", but realizes that if it didn't work against TNT, it sure as hell ain't working against the Silent One*

Anywoo, yes. Publicity is a great thing. That's why I'm suggesting these.

I resent that last comment you made Silent One. I was an RPer before a WPer and I did quite fine before all my problems. So it can be done.

Hell, most RPers, should they wish to be a great wrassler (and in a reputable fed) have to at least do a min of 2000 words to get to Main Event. It's just going from talking about your character history, to actually transfixing it so you are THE character in the RING. Only dif.

Anywoo, I'll let some others talk about this. As I got too much time on my hands right now lately. Ok, I writhe in pain half of the other time, but still. I got too much time.

Actually, RPing is very easy. 2000 words goes really fast, and if you'll ask people that know me, you'll see that people like me write 3000-5000 on average per RP.

Yah. RP is definitely easier... Somedays. There are just somedays when you really have nothing to work with and literially have to grasp at straws to get a jist of what you wanna write up. It's about the same with match writing really.
