Out of curiousity, I visited the XPW website today. I think this headline goes some way to show why this "wrestling" promotion has no business being around.

The Fall That Made A Legend,

And Turned Wrestling Real...

That obviously refers to the fall Vic Grimes took. Now, I know this has been brought up, but the fact that XPW are using this scaffold match to try to make them seem legit is infuriating. "The fall that made a legend?" A legend? A legend to who exactly? Guys like Flair, Race, Hogan and Savage are legends. They didn't need to jump off a 30 feet scaffolds. Even Mick Foley was able to put on intense, gripping bouts without any shortcuts.

"Turned Wrestling Real" Wrestling? In XPW? That's an oxymoron, isn't it? How did it turn it real? Real as in it showed the people involved in this mess really don't have the faintest clue on how to run a promotion?

Sorry, I just had to rant on this. And before any XPW advocates accuse me of having no knowledge of XPW, I've seen several of their videos. Nothing at all impressed me as a wrestling fan.

Without taking huge bumps, Foley wouldn't be a legend. Just because Foley made it to the WWF and got exposure and the mainstreams attention to what he had done in pro wrestling across the world it made him a legend. I'm not saying that Grimes should be called a legend for his fall, because believe me he is far from it. There is alot of people out there that have taken as much falls that the "legend" Foley has taken and just haven't got the exposure. I'm not sticking up for Grimes at all or XPW because I hate them both, i'm just saying that taking huge bumps like that made Foley.

Oh yeah, XPW sucks. :)

"The Fall That Made A Legend,

Give me a break.  Quite frankly I'm suprised it took them so long to post that up on their site.  With quotes like that I will only be truly happy when XPW goes out of buisness, or Rob Black gets Herpes from one of his pornstars and spreads it to the entire XPW locker room.  If that already didn't happen.

I don't know if it was technically the sick bumps that made Foley, it was more his brutal matches in general.

I think Foley still would have been a legen without the big falls he's famous for, HIAC and Gremany. He had some truly revolutionary brawls in the indies (that don't hold up as well, but for their time). But Foley had some work that aside from some great bumps, were still really good matches.

ive seen some xpw a few times and have never been impressed really.  I agree with many of you when you say that the fall did not make grimes, new jack, or the comapny itself "legendary", in fact quite the opposite.  It showed us what a piece of crap the company really is, if they have to do things like that.  Its a shame as it seems as if some of the guys on that roster could put on good matches if given the chance, but sadly it is unlikely when the stupid company and some of their stupid fans like that sort of stuff.
