Tons of other teams got screwed over in games this season, but now that it's a New York team it's some huge crime against humanity. If the situation had been reversed there wouldn't be two words about the 9ers getting screwed.

I'm sure if this game was in NY the media would've ignored the bad call and instead focused on the fans going nuts. riiight

Maybe if his team hadn't put their thumbs up their asses and pissed away a 24-point lead, the officials' bad call wouldn't have mattered. But no... shift the blame, then sue because of it. Fuck stupid assholes like this.

So what if they did, the fact is the Giants deserved another FG attempt. But if they hadn't blown the lead, that field goal probably never comes up. Also, their poor play calling once they got the lead bit them in the ass, too. The 49ers had switched their defense to defend the pass better, but the Giants failed to exploit that by running late in the game. Even if they ran for no gain all the time, they would have eaten enough time off the clock that the 49ers wouldn't have been able to make the comeback. It's the Giants' fault they lost. Pinning it on the refs is just shifting blame.

And, in all honesty, where the hell is all the scrutiny on the botched punt call in the Atlanta/Green Bay game? I agree with Tom; the FG was a gigantic clusterfuck that the Giants themselves are mostly responsible for. What about the "unchallengeable call" on the field that basically gave Atlanta their third touchdown? That was a HUGE fuck-up that essentially took the Pack out the game and it's barely even mentioned a second or third time while the Giants game is still getting press.

Had that play occurred later in the game, or had the final score been closer, I think it would be getting more press. I'm not sure I buy Sherman's claims, though. He said one of the officials told him the call could not be challenged, yet the officials said it was reviewable, and all of them denied saying anything to Sherman. Besides, why ask an official if you can challenge the play? Throw the damn red flag and pound on the buzzer. Every other coach does it.

Who says that they would have even hit the damn field goal. It was only a two yard difference from the first attempt. Niners all the way, baby.

When Al Davis isn't the one suing for a poor/controversial call an NFL game, something is seriously wrong. Plenty of teams have lost important games thanks to bad calls by the refs but you move on and get prepare for the next season.
