Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted January 9, 2003 I wonder if there's time for Al Davis to sue over that questionable Franco Harris catch 30 years ago... Last two paragraphs of the following story... http://www.jsonline.com/packer/ap/jan03/ap...bue-o010903.asp "New Jersey Assemblyman Anthony Impreveduto wants the league to allow the state to host a Super Bowl by 2006 and called on the head of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which runs Giants Stadium, to begin legal action against the NFL." "New Jersey taxpayers may have been cheated of tax revenue the state would have earned from players' income and other Giants-related enterprises had the team advanced in the playoffs,'' Impreveduto said in his letter to George Zoffinger, the sports authority president." Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Boo fucking hoo. Tons of other teams got screwed over in games this season, but now that it's a New York team it's some huge crime against humanity. If the situation had been reversed there wouldn't be two words about the 9ers getting screwed.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 9, 2003 :looks for news archives of outraged experts over the going against NFL rules and reviewing a play after another snap had already been made in the Cleveland/Jacksonville game: Oh yeah of course not...they chose to focus on bottle throwing and not on the rule breaking by the refs that led to said incident. I'm sure if this game was in NY the media would've ignored the bad call and instead focused on the fans going nuts. riiight
Guest DrTom Report post Posted January 9, 2003 What a crock. Referees blow calls every week, and no one sues over it. Lost revenue indeed. Maybe if his team hadn't put their thumbs up their asses and pissed away a 24-point lead, the officials' bad call wouldn't have mattered. But no... shift the blame, then sue because of it. Fuck stupid assholes like this.

Fuck stupid assholes like this. No offense Tom but I hate when people bring up the Giants blowing the lead. So what if they did, the fact is the Giants deserved another FG attempt. From Letterman's Top 10 List It's all part of God's plan, and God hates the Giants.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Tom, maybe this politician should sue the Giants players for playing with their heads up their collective ass for a half. Think of all the $$$ the Giants cost the city of NY. If we did this, Cincy and Phoenix could launch Class-Action suits...
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 9, 2003 From Letterman's Top 10 List It's all part of God's plan, and God hates the Giants. Well, God's no Browns fan either. I don't even think I have to tell everyone why.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted January 9, 2003 The Giants' snapper had his confidence shot with that first bad snap. He would have probably blown the next one, too.
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted January 9, 2003 He would have at least had the chance to blow another snap though. Then the Giants would have no one to blame for themselves. Ah, frivolous lawsuits. As American as apple pie.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted January 10, 2003 No offense Tom but I hate when people bring up the Giants blowing the lead. So what if they did, the fact is the Giants deserved another FG attempt. But if they hadn't blown the lead, that field goal probably never comes up. Also, their poor play calling once they got the lead bit them in the ass, too. The 49ers had switched their defense to defend the pass better, but the Giants failed to exploit that by running late in the game. Even if they ran for no gain all the time, they would have eaten enough time off the clock that the 49ers wouldn't have been able to make the comeback. It's the Giants' fault they lost. Pinning it on the refs is just shifting blame.
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted January 10, 2003 As a bitter midwesterner, this story fulfills every negative stereotype that I have about New York...thank you. And, in all honesty, where the hell is all the scrutiny on the botched punt call in the Atlanta/Green Bay game? I agree with Tom; the FG was a gigantic clusterfuck that the Giants themselves are mostly responsible for. What about the "unchallengeable call" on the field that basically gave Atlanta their third touchdown? That was a HUGE fuck-up that essentially took the Pack out the game and it's barely even mentioned a second or third time while the Giants game is still getting press. Guest MrRant Report post Posted January 10, 2003 I like it when refs miss some calls here an there. Makes things much more interesting. Besides it is IMPOSSIBLE to be right all the time.

That was a HUGE fuck-up that essentially took the Pack out the game and it's barely even mentioned a second or third time... Had that play occurred later in the game, or had the final score been closer, I think it would be getting more press. I'm not sure I buy Sherman's claims, though. He said one of the officials told him the call could not be challenged, yet the officials said it was reviewable, and all of them denied saying anything to Sherman. Besides, why ask an official if you can challenge the play? Throw the damn red flag and pound on the buzzer. Every other coach does it.

Tons of other teams got screwed over in games this season, but now that it's a New York team it's some huge crime against humanity. If the situation had been reversed there wouldn't be two words about the 9ers getting screwed. True true, true true. The niners won that game with the skill that they have. Who says that they would have even hit the damn field goal. It was only a two yard difference from the first attempt. Niners all the way, baby.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Skins were screwed twice against the Giants when Tiki Barber had a KEY fumble in BOTH GAMES that were called, "player was down" and thus could not be challenged........F-The Giants....

Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted January 15, 2003 After last year's debacle with the Raiders/Pats game, the Giants can kindly shut the Hell up. When Al Davis isn't the one suing for a poor/controversial call an NFL game, something is seriously wrong. Plenty of teams have lost important games thanks to bad calls by the refs but you move on and get prepare for the next season.
