Guest TheBostonStrangler Report post Posted January 10, 2003 It's probably where most of your matches were. WAY, WAY too many no-shows, people. Another couple shows like this won't be good. Let's see you people get moving and writing. Props, however, to the Fugue/Ejro vs. Janus match, which was the only non-default W, and a very good match at that. Guest Goodear Report post Posted January 10, 2003 I must join with a "Garumph" with TBS on this one. Anyway, I focus on the positives and such... The Luchadore wins! Yay! Sure he didn't actually finish the match the way he wanted and went strait to a surprise roll up out of no where, but I guess that actually makes it all the more shocking for the reader. Everything up to that was solid. Chris Card gets even more impressive with his win over Crow. Natasha again proves to be a great asset as she provides a really good mouthpiece for Card in commentary. The fascination with Crow and Crow bleeding was a little wacky... but I guess that's in Natasha's job description as Whacky Goth Bitch. And speaking of bitch... bitch bitch bitch was damn funny The Buffallo Street Fight .... the less said the better. Johnny does the Chris Benoit promo... This was good and short and effective way to get Johnny back in the ring without resorting to stereotypes. The main event... was fast. I was really happy with the way all my stuff turned out, and I'm psyched to get to write LDP and WildChild as a team as well as my announcer (who is an old E-Fed character of mine). If WildChild writes a jobber match for this one though ...

Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I didnt read the whole show, but so far, I read JD's "Desire" skit, Card/Crow, and my triple threat match. First off, JD = da shit. Second, Card/Crow. I am a huge fan of Card, and I'm glad he is getting better. But after reading through his match, through the description, I kinda got confused. I say work on your description some more, but since it's me talking, you have the right to not even listen to what I say. 3rd, I feel bad that I no showed. I had papers to write, but that is still no excuse. And DAMNIT! I got 3000 words in before I fell asleep. But good job to WC, for actually writing.
Rawknight 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Where does the confusion lie? I often throw way to many hims in a paragraph Constructive criticism always appreciated folks!
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I don't want to go through your whole match, but the first part is this. "Crow starts the match out by sprinting at Card and levering him over with a Mexican Armdrag. Card gets to his feet quickly, only to get armdragged by Crow again, after he rolled through and bounced off the near ropes. Crow runs at Card after a second roll through, but Card responds by sliding down and taking Crow down to the mat with a drop toe hold and barring Crow’s leg, segueing up into a heel hold and attempting to lever up to a half crab, but Crow forces Card off with a shake of his leg, sending the muscular Canadian sprawling back onto his back near the ropes. " It seemed like it moved way too fast. And you were just going from one move, to another, to another, to another. I'm probably saying something completely wrong, as I am horrible at describing stuff.
Guest AnnieEclectic Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I think what Spike's trying to get at is more the fact that you don't expound on how you get to each of the moves. Like at one point you used a jugajitame and called it that. There's a lot of people that don't know what that is, myself included. It reads better if you wrote out the entire move in description, then had the commentator go "Whoa! Chris Card hits a jugajitame!". However, this was only your second match, so it's not like you were expected to know that right off the bat. You're obviously quite talented, just need a bit of refinement tis all -Annie

Rawknight 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Hmm... well that segment WAS supposed to be fast (Crow says in his stats that he likes to start matches with fast stuff), but I understand that I'm not gettting a sense of time right in the stretchy strong style stuff in the middle portion of matches. I'll have to work on that. Oh and I decided to call the armbar a jujigatame because.. well I can. I think it would be more realistic if I called the move by a fancy name in the descriptive text and then gave it a more accesible name in the commentary - after all I wouldn't expect JR to know (or call) the difference between a jujigatame, a wakigatame and a traditional western armbar, unless it was someone's finisher. Thanks for the suggestions though folks
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I think it would be more realistic if I called the move by a fancy name in the descriptive text and then gave it a more accesible name in the commentary That's what I do. But you can't call it what you want if you're going to use a technical term. You can call it right, or you can Miscall it. Annie, and Jujigatame is one of Danny's finishers... how many matches have you had with him now? Technical Perfection... hmmmmm... Don't make me give you a lesson in technical skill. Or worse, Danny. Hehe.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted January 11, 2003 So, uhh, I can name any move I use to anything I want? From here on forth, my clothesline shall be called "HOLYFUCKINGSHITITSACLOTHESLINE"
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Yer Spike. That's the whole thing of gimmick names. Some are good, some are rubbish, some just arent needed.
Rawknight 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Or just have Joey Styles on commentary and make up gimmick names for things randomly. Noone really needs more than 2 or 3 named moves, but I'm sure Danny Doring had about 6, and Taz had every suplex as a Tazplex on top of the Tazmission and the Brooklyn Boot. Having said that I always thought the Steiner Recliner would be better if you called it the Steiner Spine Aligner. So what do I know.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 Yer, Styles can be bad. Cole does the same thing, but worse. You can give the whole Tazplex thing as a gimmick. And DD wasnt the Danny I was on about, he he's still cool. What do you know? Dunno, I'd do a quiz, but that'be he silly.
