Guest TUS_02 Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 I think they are good for nostalgic purposes. There's just something about them, I dunno. My favorite is the one with the 1 foot ruler on the goaline and Cheadle points to the goaline and nods yes... then points to the end of the ruler and shakes his head no and then it cuts to the end of the Titans/Ravens Super Bowl.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 "nostalgic purposes" That game was only a couple of years ago -- lol. Those spots aren't too bad, I guess. I've seen better, I've seen worse. I wonder how many takes they had to do for the 5 second one -- Btw: Was that 5 second spot talking about specific events, or general quick-out passes?...
Guest hardyz1 Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 I like them, especially that one with the ruler. And it was Titans/Rams, not Ravens.
Guest imajackoff? Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 I think Don Cheadle is great, but most of these commercials dont do anything for me. The only exception would be the one where he is on the ladder showing how high THE CATCH was.
Guest phoenixrising Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 About the 5 second commercial...I know about Warner to Bruce, but when did the Aikman to Irvin play occur? Was it a specific play in a playoff game, or just something in general? And I like the commercial with Joe Namath. "They took an ordinary name like Joe, and made it...Joe."
Guest El Satanico Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Well if it wasn't for Cheadle they wouldn't be as good. Eh they don't bother me, but I'm not all excited to see them or anything.
Guest the saiyan prince Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 i like them all especially the one about joe that one i dug big time
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 And I like the commercial with Joe Namath. "They took an ordinary name like Joe, and made it...Joe." I have to say that I disagree about the "Joe" ad ... is there anyone having kids now that name their kid Joe and think "he's going to be a winner, just like Joe Namath was 35 years ago" ?!?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I like the commercials personally. Don makes it seem so important even when just talking about the name Joe or how long seconds is. My favorite is the "one foot" commercial. When he points to the end zone side of the goal line and imitates a crowd cheering then point to the field side and goes "AWWWWWW" I just crack up. I guess it really is just a game of inches.
