Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 10, 2002 With the 4 way match at Wrestlemania for the tag titles...does it matter who even wins? Tag title runs don't seem to mean anything anymore...they haven't really ran a great tag team feud since the 1999 stuff with Edge/Christian and THe Hardys. In 2001 no tag title run went over 2 months...they just kept passing the belts back and forth to the same teams with no rhyme or reason to it. And with the super teams getting it now and then...Taker/Rock, Jericho/Rock...blah blah blah...teams put together who have no reason to be together and win the belts on a fluke and drop them shortly later. At Wrestlemania with Billy and Chuck vs The APA they had a chance to make a real tag team feud...but no, they have to gimmick every tag team ppv match so the fans will pay attention. And it sucks. I wish they would use tag titles to break up teams, push teams into singles, or something else different...how many times can you see the same teams having the same matches and not get bored with it. I've been bored a while now.
Guest ])r. ])eath Report post Posted March 10, 2002 Well, the Tag Team titles mean more than almost every single singles title. In my mind anyway. The division has slowed down, but it seems to be heading in the correct direction in my opinion. Better, longer, more thought out storylines are all that are needed. The WWF seems to not have any ideas on what to do with tag team. If they get stale, the WWF either brakes them up, or turns them babyface/heel. A good example is the Dudley Boyz. They are stale, but turning them face is not the answer. As much TV as they get, you would think that an angle would be created for them. The Hardyz on the other hand, may benefit greatly from a heel turn. Imagine what all the 13 year old teenie boppers would think. Longer title reigns of course could help. Especially, if the belts are on a credible tag team. I.E. Not Tazz & Spike. Why did they even get a title run? I really like the Dudley Boyz as Tag Team Champions, or course, they have to be heel, and they have to be non stale heels. Say it with me now: E..C...Dub, E...C...Dub, E...C...Dub

Guest FakeRazor Report post Posted March 10, 2002 Maybe if there were actually some credible tag teams, then the tag division would mean something. You know your tag division sucks when the tag title match at Wrestlemania is Billy and Chuck against the APA, a team that is rarely on TV, and almost never wrestles. Shit like this just boggles my mind, with the gigantic roster the WWF has.
Guest blackjack4x Report post Posted March 11, 2002 There aren't enough solid tag teams in the WWF that wrestle on a regular occasion. As much as I dislike Billy and Chuck, at least they're a new team, something which the WWF needs more of. The APA don't wrestle regularly, so that leaves the Dudleys and the Hardys as the only two regular tag teams in the WWF. Longer one-team-against-one-team feuds are needed for the division to regain credibility, instead of always throwing everyone into one big match and have it inevitably come down to the Dudleys and Hardys, which shows they're the only two teams with credibility. Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted March 11, 2002 I think the Tag-Team titles right now should be where "wrestling" belongs. I mean, I've seen ECW Tag Teams like Tajiri and Whipreck, Sabu and RVD, The Impact Players and it was amazing to see all the tag-team maneuvers and innovation. If we're not gonna see 20 minutes of RVD/Storm, then we should see 20 minutes of RVD & Edge/Regal & Storm. I'm sure Pual Heymen is in the back just eager to write this match. If they put actual wrestlers and focus on wrestling in the tag-division, they could see lots of success.
Guest WildPegasusXXII Report post Posted March 11, 2002 the tag team scene is stale, and that sucks, especially with the giant roster the WWF now has in its lap, and that doesnt even count the development territory guys. I'd love to see the return of Jindrak & O'Haire, or the debuts of the Minnesota Stretching Crew, and whomever else is hiding in OVW and HWA. Start off a new angle on RAW with a new tag team nobody's seen on TV yet come out and kick the crap out of whomever wins the 4 way, or something...just get some new blood in. As for the random superteams...right now they're the reason the division isnt as stale as it could be...realistically, there are three tag teams..Dudley's, Hardy's and the APA...i guess you could call it four with Billy and Chuck...you need a few more than that to make a decent division...so Tazz and Spike get a run...or Rocky/Jericho, or whatever. Plus, if a wrestler has a guaranteed number of title runs or something like that in his contract, thats a way to get one or two of em out of the way quickly. Guest Phr33k Report post Posted March 11, 2002 The WWF has one tag-team worthy of my approval, and amazingly, that tandem is Chuck and Billy. I like Gunn and Palumbo in tag-team wrestling, because they've proven that that's where their strengths lie. They need new teams to build as viable threats. The Perfect/Test team could work, as well as maybe a pair of lightweights with nothing going on as of now, like, say, The Hurricane and Crash Holly. Change Hurricane back to Shane Helms, and just make them a team without a gimmick. If all else fails, promote Brock Lesnar, Prototype or Waterman, and pair up at will. That, added to the Hardys, Dudleys and APA, makes a half-decent division.
Guest FakeRazor Report post Posted March 11, 2002 You know you've got problems when the Billy and Chuck tandem are considered your best team. As for making a tag with Helms, I'd bring Moore up instead with the superhero gimmick. It'd be stupid to drop the gimmick now, its pretty over, and Helms doesn't have much in the charisma department without a goofy gimmick.
