Ray Rhodes To Seattle?

Broncos defensive coordinator Ray Rhodes resigned Jan. 11, and at least one NFL source now believes he will be the primary candidate to join Mike Holmgren in Seattle as the Seahawks defensive coordinator, the Denver Post reported. The Seahawks have been searching for a defensive coordinator since firing Steve Sidwell after their disappointing season ended. Holmgren and Rhodes worked together in San Francisco.

Could Rhodes be a good fit to shore up the defense against the run and make them work? He has been a good defensive coach for many years and if Holmgren lets him do what he needs to I think it will work out and put that with the run towards the end of the season and I can see a wildcard spot.

Thoughts?

I think it would be an upgrade because he is one of those intense coaches that seem to get something out of his players marginal or not.

He's a good defensive coordinator so I'm sure he will get improvement out of them.

Besides he's most likely the best availible guy for the job.

Why couldn't the Browns sign him instead of ::shudders:: Dave Campo.

Rhodes would help, but Holmgren needs to stop getting rid of people who can stop the run. Maybe since he's not the GM anymore, that won't be an issue, but when you purge the team's three best run stoppers in two years, you really have no right to complain that your team can't stop the run.

What's so bad about Dave Campo? He may not have been a good head coach, but from everything i've heard he was a good defensive coordinator.

Not all assistants/coordinators make good head coaches even if they are good assistants/coordinators. Ray Rhodes himself wasn't a very good head coach either.
