Guest snuffbox Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Any opinions on Billy Corgans new rock outfit, Zwan? Sounding pretty good now, first single 'honestly' is great, and getting much airplay. The video for said song is really quite good as well. Anybody hear/see any of this yet?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Not yet, but I'm mildly curious.

Guest converge241 Report post Posted January 13, 2003 i liked it when i first heard it when it was called Smashing Pumpkins j/k but it really doesnt sound all that departed..so why bother with the change?
Guest TheyCallMeMark Report post Posted January 14, 2003 Ugh. I didn't like his old band very much, and I think the new song is about one chorus too long.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted January 18, 2003 I saw a vid, it was utterly shit. Just seemed like pussy ass mainstream rock to me.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted January 18, 2003 Billy is too weird/bald to be mainstream!
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted January 19, 2003 yeah, I haven't got anything against him really, but jesus the way him and that girl who I think plays bass were just singing to each other was incredibly lame. He's been mainstream for a fair while though, come on.
Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Sounds fucking shit. Anyone who differentiates between this and equally bland stuff like Nickleback is on crack.
Guest Kuyzer Soze Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I was a big fan of the pumpkins, I have all their albums, and I plan on getting Zwans album to. Mellon Collie rules

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 19, 2003 It's ok...nothing special. I was into the Pumpkins before they put out Adore. Which Billy was quick to say "if you were a REAL fan you'd get into it." I love how when artists put out some real crap how they're so quick to defend it and use the "you're just not a fan" defense
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I heard the single, sounds way too smiley-happy for me. I like the older suicidal material he put out, though.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted January 22, 2003 It's ok...nothing special. I was into the Pumpkins before they put out Adore. Which Billy was quick to say "if you were a REAL fan you'd get into it." I love how when artists put out some real crap how they're so quick to defend it and use the "you're just not a fan" defense well sometimes it is crap. but sometimes (as with 'in utero' and 'vitalogy', which were done to scary away the "superficial fans") they're actually right. of course...it backfired with both albums, & they ended up selling millions and millions of copies. Guest Insanityman Report post Posted January 22, 2003 I do enjoy some of the older Smashing Pumpkins... and I think "In Utero" was the truth, but didn't quite work. Hell, when does it work? Because half the time it makes some people think, "Well... if he said it was hardcore, I must be hardcore!"
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted January 22, 2003 The single reminds me of...well, early-period Smashing Pumpkins, kind of before they had the real come-together period of Siamese Dream. Feels like a listen-before-you-buy deal. Or maybe I'll just throw Adore in on loop for a few days. Despite mad love for Siamese Dream and the bloated bloatasticness of Mellon Collie, I think Adore is still my fave. He's taken back that "you would like it if you were a real fan," bit, probably after the not-so-hot album sales, or lack thereof. Last time I checked, Corgan firmly stood in the "agh, that album was crap and I don't want people to talk to me about it" corner. Silly, silly man.
