Guest res37618 Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Glad someone resurrected this topic, it's pretty cool A local grocery store chain around here (Food City) has small video rental stores built into each location. They got rid of a TON of videos and DVD's at the one near my apartment a couple of days ago, and I got the following: Royal Rumble 2000 DVD (7.95) Royal Rumble 2001 DVD (7.95) WrestleMania X7 DVD (7.95) Royal Rumble 1997 VHS (3.33) Rampage 97 VHS (the tape of IYH: Badd Blood - 3.33) Pretty damned good prices if I must say. Wrestling's ride down the proverbial "roller coaster" nets us fans some good prices when video stores decide they're not carrying the stuff anymore. Anyone else finding any good deals? Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Oh bravesfan, how 'bout those Jericho intros at Slamboree 1998? Oh man, the introductions, especially Silver King and Juventud, were priceless! BTW, have any of you out there heard of these "Beyond The Ring" videos that feature a bloodied Mick Foley on the cover? They may be worth the 2.99 purchase price, considering they promise "massive amounts of blood, horrible injuries and incredible stunts!" There's also a huge amount of UFC tapes at the store I frequent, as well as a few IWA Deathmatch tapes. Can't say I have, but I have found many obscure wrestling videos at CD Warehouse and Record Exchange. Some include - Women's Championship Wrestling (Wendi Richter vs. Heidi Lee Morgan in a 'cage') - My Breakfast with Blassie (Yes, I'm counting that) - The Best of Wrestling Slams - The UWF's Greatest Champions (Quite possibly my worst video) - Raw: Secrets and Strategies (Finally, I figure out how to do those ultra-super-duper-special moves only a year after my brother gives my SNES away; plus Luger vs. Bigelow, can't beat that (rolls eyes)) If I do find those videos though, I'd gobble them up in a heartbeat. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Off of eBay a few minutes ago... World Tour 1992 Great American Bash 1996 Capital Carnage 1998 all for $14.99, excluding shipping (which is going to be $8.00, since it was all purchased from the same seller). I KNOW GAB '96 is golden stuff for the ***** Benoit/Sullivan brawl , **** Mysterio debut and the Sting/Regal masterpiece, while World Tour has one worthwhile match in Michaels/Savage. What should I expect from Capital Carnage?

Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Eh, not much for me lately, though I did buy Best of RAW vol 3 (highlighting 2000) and Global Warning on VHS at a Blockbuster.
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 7, 2003 I'm gonna try and post my entire wrestling collection sometime between now and tomorrow, mainly so I can entice some people to trade, there's a few events/matches I don't have yet.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted April 21, 2003 *BUMP* It's back once again. Anyway, picked up the "WWF Big Five of 1998" box collection for $14.99 off of eBay. Also, this coming weekend, I'm doing a full search of every VHS rental store within my city. I've already got the phone numbers and addresses to all of the 6 stores I will be examining, so wish me luck. If I find any spare masters that I already have, I'll be willing to trade them for a few RAW's or Smackdowns, since I don't have the patience to deal with eBay in a seller's capacity. If you have anything new to share, spill.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Just received The Macho Man Randy Savage and Elizabeth video a couple weeks ago. Not necessarily a bargain as it set me back $35, but it's a RARE one in nice condition for its age (1986). Very similiar to Macho Madness --- Just substitute Honky Tonk Man for Hulk Hogan . . . Ted DiBiase for Tito Santana . . . and it even ends in a tag match just like Macho Madness. The Santana/Savage rematches in MSG were definitely more fun than I was expecting. BTW, no love for Savage in NYC as everyone wanted Santana to take the gold back. Funny bit as Savage was on The Body Shop just after his IC Title win and was about to offer to let Elizabeth hold the title, but a mere second after saying he would, he retorted himself with a "Changed my mind!" Classic stuff. Not $35 worth of action as the tape is like 80 minutes, but certainly a rarity any way you slice it. bravesfan --- Thanks for bumping this! I'm done now. Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted April 21, 2003 The hell you're done, what about that boss Summerslam '89 tape you got of eBay??? But anwyay, yeah you get about 7 Tito/Savage matches, but at least there's a little variety in their matches (i.e. gimmicks involved), but it's very similar to Macho Madness in the respect that they focus on Savage and one guy for the most part. He really hadn't done that much at the time of the first release, so I guess I can't blame 'em. Better than showing his 1839 matches with George Steele. Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I got that tape dubbed onto a tape after Starrcade 1993

That Rooster match had me disoriented for a moment. But yeah, SummerSlam 1989 is definitely a fun show to watch during the era when I first started watching wrestling consistently. I was 6-7 years old and I marked for the Fabulous Rougeaus then too.
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 23, 2003 A lot of you guys like this thread, and keep bumping it. I think it should be pinned.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted April 23, 2003 PIN IT baby! Just received Bret "Hitman" Hart (1994) yesterday. I also thought I was getting World War 3 1997 (marked 1998), but I really did get WW3 1998 (Doh!) I'm trying to straighten it out. I am awaiting Best of SNME, Inside the WWF, Hits from the Crypt, and, hopefully, a better copy of Supertape 1992. Can't be any worse than the one I already have. After that, I have to save my money for Summer tuition. No fun at all!!!

Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 *bump* Some guy dumped A TON of tapes off at my local used CD/Video store. Most were recent events and some I already have, but there's a few that I might pick up. Usually they're priced for 5 bucks
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted May 1, 2003 A while back, I picked up a RARE ECW video called Harcdore Revolution that wasn't released to the public, but was produced by Acclaim just for promoting the video game of the same name. It's a quick video that features clips from Anarchy Rulz 1999 and the full match from November to Remember (I think) of Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka (none of the theme music was overdubbed/clipped). It was $1 at Record Exchange. Also, after paying for tuition I purchased a video from Corey Morgan's website (3/85 MSG, last eps of SNME, CJ in WCW comp). Just curious, how's his VQ? When he says VG, is it VG?
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Well I went in to see those tapes I mentioned that were dropped off earlier in the week. I picked up: Bash at the Beach 96 Wrestlemania VI (WWF Home Video version) St. Valentine's Day Massacre InVasion Survivor Series 2001 Also I did a good deed for the day. Another guy was looking at the videos and picked up Spring Stampede 1994. Now, I already only a copy, and I told him "get it, it's excellent". It was only 3 bucks and the guy took it. Ah, I feel good about that. Oh and my COTC 1/92, 6/92, 9/92 and 1/93 came today
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Also, Insurrextion 2000 and 2001 are available for 5 bucks each, should I pick them up?

Public, he'll probably be pissed that there's no Hulk Hogan on it. But after seeing the Nasties/Jack/Payne brawl, he'll forget about Hollywood Hulk Hasbeeeeen! Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 He asked if it was a clip tape, I said "Oh no, this is complete. It has Cactus Jack/Maxx Payne vs Nasties" He then said "Isn't Maxx Payne the guy who became Balls Mahoney" No I said. But I guy who likes Balls is gonna LOVE that match. And the rest of the tape I think.

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Within the last few days, received --Supertape 2 --Royal Rumble 1992 --World Tour 1992 --Great American Bash 1996 --Ground Zero 1997 (sealed...thanks for the transaction Tony.) --Capital Carnage 1998 Also, just stumbled upon a few old RAW's, SMACKDOWN's and Nitro's from the 1999-2000 period (including a large block of RAWs leading up to Wrestlemania 2000). Sadly, I'm still missing the 2.7.2000 RAW. If anyone is willing to part with a good copy (not necessarily SP, but a quality that's above-average), I'll be glad to buy or trade (I'll go 6 hours of shows for the 2.7.2000 RAW). Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I sell 6 hours of custom made tapes for 5 bucks, so the locals around me get a good deal
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Millenium, do you know anything about Insurrextion 2000 & 2001 Not specifically. They tend to blend in too much with the Rebellion videos. Considering the time period, I'd pick up the 2000 version (I THINK Rock/HHH in a cage is the ME) over the 2001 w/ Power Trip/UT/ect. I'm at work now and can't get to check out the listings to jog my memory till tonight.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I have Insurrextion 2000, and I'd say that it's worth $5. The main event is a triple threat match (Rock vs. HHH vs. Shane McMahon). The undercard has some decent matches in Angle vs. Benoit, Eddie vs. Jericho, and E & C vs. Hardys. Good deals that I have gotten on tapes: $2.99 for a CHV master of SummerSlam '92 $80 (plus S&H) for the original WM box set (I-XIII) when it first came out. In my opinion, the original WM box set (the Collection) is better than the current one (the Legacy). The PPVs are uncut in the original box set, with the exception of WM XI, which is the encore plus edition.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I just watched Slamboree 96 which I bought Monday for $10 at a video store (they also had Summerslam 94, Survivor Series 93, 95, Hulkamania 2, amongst others). I bought it because it had Lyger on it and I found it to be REALLY FREAKIN GOOD. I don't mean 'really freakin good' as in 'really freakin good' but rather 'better than I thought it would be'. Sting vs. Giant was actually really good.
