Guest AnnieEclectic Report post Posted January 14, 2003 I'd put it here but the link contains one of the neatest pics I've seen in a while. INS Article For this? Against? It seems to be another "Look, we're doing something to stop terrorism, even though we don't know what we're doing" plan of action. Ugh. -Annie
Guest RobJohnstone Report post Posted January 14, 2003 yeah ashcroft is a big brother supporting asshole, we know this. No need to start comparing him to hitler like the guy in the pic. Let's get real, seriously. You liberals don't like a conservative and to back yourselves up you call us fascists. Ok so let me add him to my list of fascists provided by you. 1. was bush sr. which you mentioned in another thread. 2. was buchanan, same htread 3. was W bush, same thread 4. is now ashcroft, in this thread. Seems like you have a facism complex to me. Think about it at the next ACLU fundraiser. --Rob

Guest nikowwf Report post Posted January 14, 2003 Ive never understood why asking people who are in the country to stay within the terms of their visa is encroaching on their rights. if you don't stay within the terms of your visa to the US, you are here illegally and have no rights. Period. I'm not saying that we should put beepers on immigrants so we know where they are at all times. But ive seen articles in the past few days about students complaining the government is going to make sure they are here legally, and the like. My wife is here legally, and we followed the rules, and no one hassles us. I've visted 13 countries so far, followed the rules of my visa and no one's hassled me. In several countries, I was forced to show my visa. In china, i was made to register where I would be staying. Were these countries infringing on my rights? I agree with some of this stuff, but i think we take things too far. We are a country of whiners sometimes. niko
