Guest godthedog Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Here's a simple test: Are any of the SNL movies better than Life of Brian? Didn't think so. Oh and the best recurring character on Kids in the Hall was Forgetful Asshole Guy. "Slipped my miiiiind." and " Tell ya what I'll do..." are mark-outs for me. although true, that's not a very reliable test. both SNL and python did their best work in television, & none of the movies either did really approach it. I ahve to disagree. if all the D&D nerds hadn't over-exposed it, I feel Holy Grail would be considered the best comedy of the 70's
Guest godthedog Report post Posted January 17, 2003 some of the jokes in 'holy grail' were as funny as anything on the tv show, but there were big problems with the pacing. the format they were using made the movie lag, especially towards the end. as a whole, the movie just doesn't sustain the energy that the tv show did. the tv show would go at breakneck speed from joke to joke, and had a great manic, frantic energy that 'holy grail' just doesn't have. Think the problems in apcing where part of the joke. When it would just jump to seemingly unrelated skits for no readily apparant reason
