Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted January 15, 2003 I just watched the 97 Slammy's again and was shocked by this segment.... Bob and Mancow were to give out an award ...Mancow sez "Nice tie dork" ...Bob gets pissed and Mancow's body guard and Bob get into a shoving contest... (Clips Air) After the clips...Mancow puffs smoke from his cigar at Bob ...Bob grabs the cigar ...crumples it, and gets on the mike bellering about Mancow disrespecting "our world" (The wrestlers)...More shoving...a body guard goes down...and Mancow and others pull Bob off... This didn't seem staged at all....Anyone know if it was a legit "shoot" of sorts??
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted January 17, 2003 I'm pretty sure that was a work. It wouldn't have aired or been released on video it it was.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Good Point, Vince merely said "Bob Backlund getting a lil carried away" Another funny thing on that night in retrospect, was Owen hart spilling a tray of drinks onto Vader. Vader pauses for a second with a grin on his face, then tries chasing Owen, jumps over one chair, then tries to jump another, but trips and falls on his face. He gets up glaring at Owen with a slight grin, and Vince sez "Vader's raging mad" or something similar. This was later revealed to be a improv prank Owen pulled. (I think that nugget of knowledge was in Lawler's book) Lastly...Shawn Micheals is at the awards show, and he and Bret take lil potshots at one another. Bret " Shawn i hope you find your smile again soon, so we can lock up and find out who the better man really is"... And Shawn, less than 6 weeks after forfeiting the title and declaring his career over due to a knee injury, is hopping up and down the steps. Quite the dramatic improvement, you'd swear he was faking it
