Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 To answer the proposed question, I would say Austin and Angle mesh really well along with probably Rock/Jericho, but they've run those matches into the ground and probably won't ever pop a buyrate with either ever again. And to be perfectly honest, if it isn't drawing, then it doesn't matter to Vince if they "mesh well".

Perfect examples: at one PPV (I forget which) he faced Big Show and Flair, with interferance from X-Pac, and still won. 3 on 1... I guess that would be acceptable. Then on a Raw, he was in a Lumberjack match, but his main opponent was Booker T. That's.....I forget how many, but it was more than 3, even with Arn Anderson's interferance. And yet, Austin STILL won. Now I know he's the top face and he's supposed to beat the heels, but geez, not THAT badly. That's not a "hoss". Hell, damn near every big name face in the WWE has done that before and Austin is no exception. Yeah, that's Not a HOSS. That's Called Austin being a whinny pain in the Ass backstage. That feud and Austin coming out on top in the Blow off match could have been good. But, Austin was never made to look weak once during that feud, and was getting the best of Flair and Big Show ever week building up to it. Then of course, Austin over comes the Odds and beats them both on PPV. And it wasn't just Flair and Big Show. Austin wasn't letting himself look weak against anyone last year. With the Exception of Jericho beating him up with the Beer Cooler, ONCE!

The only thing they should do is bring Austin to Smackdown and fued with ANYONE in the top of the card. Then, you can stack a PPV Buyrate high by having those people fued. RAW is a dead ship anyway, Smackdown side will carry any buyrate because RAW has nothing nobody will care about. As for meshing well, the last fued to mesh well was the Smackdown tag team titles. And lets see how much they talk about those now a days?
