Guest Brian Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I expect their SummerSlam match, which is where they should do the re-match as face/face after Heyman turns on Angle, to be worse than their Mania match. It has a ton of potential storywise, for Mania, but Angle has shown little if nay ability to carry over past match stories and use continuity in his matches.
Guest Choken One Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Give Angle another year and he can. Bret Hart pretty much carried Perfect (whom was hurt as fuck) to a **** match and followed a year later by dragging a even more sluggish Bulldog ****3/4 match in front of 80,000. Angle could easily go that way to with Brock.

That would only be part of the problem, Brian. The match would lack because it's a match between a guy who can't carry very well against a guy who needs to be carried. Add to it that round to is rarely better than round one, and we have lackluster written all over it.
Guest Brian Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 It could be better. It's just not the way Angle works though. He's got sort of a WWE idealogy to working re-matches: bust out the cool stuff and don't worry about continuity or building off. It's not that they can't do it either. First match is Brock's power vs. Angle's mind. Angle just a little weaker because he lost some reflex or osmething from being with Paul, thus creating a break-up and the Angle face turn fans have been waiting for. They can do knee vs. ribs with Angle chopping the monster down and Brock coming back to the ribs to regain his strength. If they can play off the wrestling sequence and build a power vs. agility deal, which I doubt they can unless it's very smartly laid out. Angle's the superior wrestler, Brock the power. Angle's got the experience. So much to work with, but yet it could all easily fall into place. Second match, you go with the same storyline accept Angle has to prove himself. The pride issue and face vs. face should go over pretty well, with Brock playing more of a heel getting a little cocky at times. Pl;aying off a lot of the same premises and using the familiarity thing, posing Brock as a little more seasoned and turning Angle into a face underdog will work really well. The big plus to Angle is his bumping, and this fits this match better.
Guest creativename Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I would Say Angle has Hit **** once, You think out of all Angle's great matches, he has had only ONE **** match, yet you think he can have a ***** match with a not so great worker? I think it's clear that he mis-typed, and meant ***** (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Guest Choken One Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 No, I mistyped. and Someone brought to mind about Angle/Austin Summerslam being ***** but I kindly disagree and go ****1/4 because of the weak ending.
