Guest Sandman9000 Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 Is there anyone here who has seen this? ESPN.com was talking about it today, and since I don't have a TV, I haven't been able to see it. Is it really as good as ESPN.com says it is? Hell, anyone know where I can get it online? Gatorade.com didn't have shit. Thanks in advance.
Guest Lethargic Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 I saw it once and thought it was really cool and I don't even like Jordan. I was wondering how they did it so the article was cool too.
Rob E Dangerously Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 I've seen it. Basic idea of the ad: Jordan of today faces the Jordan from the Bulls in one-on-one. Then at the end, Jordan from UNC shows up.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 What exactly does this commercial advertise for then? Just Jordan or ESPN?
Guest starvenger Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 I haven't seen it, but from a technical standpoint it sounds very cool. ESPN Page 2 has an artical on the "making of"...
Guest CED Ordonez Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 If you look on the right sidebar of the article starvenger just mentioned, there is a link to see the commercial in streaming video. Pretty impressive CG job when "young" Jordan is actually standing still long enough to see his face.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Would Current Jordan be able to keep up with in-his prime Jordan? I know it's only a commercial, but it seems like young Jordan, would kick old Jordan's ass one on one.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 "39" Jordan would probably have to rely heavily on his perimeter game since he can't quite take it to the hole like he could. However, he has more experience over "23" Jordan and could use head and ball fakes to get a younger, less experienced "23" Jordan out of position for those shots or an easy bucket in the paint. "23" Jordan would use the obvious speed and power advantages to bring the dunks and occasionally hit the outside shots. Advantage most likely goes to "23" Jordan, but "39" Jordan would still be a challenge. Overanalyzed for a mere commercial, but that's how I see it. The commercial is so surreal, it's awesome.
