Who Should beat Batista?

Recommended Posts

Guest Youth N Asia

Remember the good ol days when new guys would start at the bottom, and wouldn't be main eventing shows after a month of tv exposure?

I miss that

Remember when wrestling was fun to watch?....its kinda hard...

It would be so easy for the wwe to regain its success. Wouldnt be at its 98-2001 levels but it would be solid and growing. That will require vince to fish himself out of his ego-timewarp and realize fans want quality WRESTLING and ENTERTAINMENT. Not neither.

I don't think Batista has the talent to do the whole Vader/Flair, Starrcade '93 bit. I mean, we're talking early 90's Vader here, one of the best workers in the world at the time. I just don't buy that Batista can pull it off because he just doesn't have the overwhelming prescence that Vader does.

I didn't say that the quality would be the same, that would be close to impossible as Flair/Vader at Starcade '93 is one of my favorite matches ever (if you haven't seen it I'll send it to ya on here), I simply meant that the execution and pay off could be somewhat the same. There is no better match than that classic from'93 to watch to learn how such a match should progress.

Oh, I've seen the match before. What I mean is that Batista just doesn't have the aura about him that Vader did. I know it's not fair to compare then to now, but really, the angle you're proposing works best when the monster heel has that "There's no one alive that can beat him" feel rather than the current "It's just another big guy" reaction to Batista. And really, to get that kind of feel, it's going to take a lot of big names to lay down for him like Sting and Cactus Jack did for Vader and with RAW's really lacking roster, I don't see how they could pull it off.

I figured you'd seen it, I just posted that in case anyone else didn't "get" what we're talking about. I don't mean for that type of angle to be for Batista now. It would have to be down the line after he's given that type of gimmick in the first place.

It's never going to happen though, I think we can all agree on that.

I can't wait untill another such as Vader comes along and we CAN see a storyline like that Vader character of the early 90's in WCW.
