Guest Downhome Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Ok, you know those "video packages" that float around on the net, much like the stuff you see on WWE TV, right? Well I've been fooling around a bit with them, and would like to ask you guys one simple thing... ...are there any songs you can suggest for me to use? I'm not very familier with rock/metal music, but I do love many of the songs in the genre, and would like to use something like that. I have no idea bout artists or song titles however, so that's where you all come in. I want something not too hard, with a soft like feel to it. Something that would go good with a lot of action, with a few hard moments in the song. I'm also looking for something that would go good with a video of decesed wrestlers, or wrestlers that no longer are active, something with a very light feel that has a good message. Do any of you have any songs you could suggest to me? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 For a high-flying wrestler that might have gotten injured doing a flying move, and then stuck to the mat: Beyond The Embrace - "Against The Elements" CHORUS: "We embrace the sky / Why do we fear to fly?" OTHERS: Shadows Fall - "The Art Of Balance" Nevermore - "Dreaming Neon Black" Nevermore - "Believe In Nothing" Tool - "Lateralus" (always thought it'd be great for a video package) Slayer - "Seasons In The Abyss" Deep Purple - "Son Of Alerik" (slow, moody instrumental)
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Rob Zombie - Dragula (Si Non Oscillas, Noli Tintnnare mix) Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong... that would be good if you ran the video at about 3/4 speed I can't really think of any good ones for deceased wrestlers
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 lateralus is fucking epic, however it's ten mins so it might not work for all purposes.
Guest Downhome Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 lateralus is fucking epic, however it's ten mins so it might not work for all purposes. I just found that out myself, wouldn't really work for right now unless I edited the song down.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Finger Eleven - Famous it's slow in the beginning and just gets a bit harder and seems to talk alot about memories and such... then the refrain is harder than the rest of the song... it would be GREAT for an injured wrestler...but I don't think it would be good for a deceased one...
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 For a high-flying wrestler that might have gotten injured doing a flying move, and then stuck to the mat: Beyond The Embrace - "Against The Elements" CHORUS: "We embrace the sky / Why do we fear to fly?" I second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth ... Ahh you get the message, JUST USE THAT SONG!
Guest Steviekick Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 For an epic feud that needs a short song, choose Sentenced's "Blood and Tears" it's metal enough for anyone, yet melodic and clean enough for the rest.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Downhome, search for a 5-minute or so version of "Lateralus," maybe under the title "Lateralus (Radio Version)." I know they took out about 4 or 5 minutes worth of the song (mostly intro, middle breakdown, and some of the end) to shorten it for radio consumption. Might work better then. And UYI, you're a Beyond The Embrace fan too?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Don't you dare use any edited Tool. Try some Sepultura, maybe Propaganda, or War.
Guest treble charged Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 I've always thought that treble charger's "Favorite Worst Enemy" would be good for a video package on two people who hate each other. It's not too long, either (4 minutes, or so), so that wouldn't be a problem. Another one of their songs, "Friend of Mine", could also probably be used in the same situation, as well.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Slayer's Exile could be useful in a blood feud.. "You self-righteous fuck, give me a reason not to rip your fucking face off, why don't you take a good look in the eyes, cause I'm the one who's going to tear your fucking heart out..."
Guest redbaron51 Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 well what is your video about anyways, that alone can help narrow the songs down
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 What, are you saying that Slayer might not work for the thing? That will not do. Change your topic accordingly.
