CPU: Intel Celeron 1.1ghz

OS: Windows XP Professional

RAM: 356 mb SDRAM

Hard Drives: 10gb, no brand name (came with the last system I bought, so it's probably 4800rpm)

- 80gb 5400 RPM IBM (mainly for storage of my ridiculous number of matches, TV shows and songs)

Video: Onboard *sigh* That's the next upgrade. It's not bad; I mean, it's a Gigabyte motherboard and so it performs admirably, but it COULD be so much better.

CD/DVD: TDK 32x12x40 CD-RW

Internet: Cable

Monitor: 17" CRT

Sound: Soundblasters

Printer: HP Deskjet 930C

Accesories: 3-port Fanbus, 3x40mm cooler on the 80-gigger, 4-port USB2.0 add-in card, Palm Vx, heavily modded case with extra fans, Volcano 7 heat sink.

Windows XP

128 MB SDRAM

40 gig HD

3D Graphics Intel Direct AGP

24x CD-RW

Pretty sure I have a 17" monitor

Shitty speakers, keyboard, and mouse that came w/ the computer

Lexmark Z25 printer

I'd recommend installing DirectX 9, then going to Intel.com and downloading and installing the latest drivers for your on-board adapter.

Before I got my new card I had Intel 82810 onboard graphics and the drivers helped tremendously.

AMD Athlon XP 1700+

256 MB DDR

40 GB, 5400 RPM main hard drive w/ Windows 98SE, 80 GB, 7200 RPM secondary hard drive, with 8 MB cache, running Windows XP

SoundBlaster Live! sound card

48/16/48 Samsung CD-RW with 8 MB cache

Soon to be upgraded to a 2100+ with USB 2.0, 384 MB of DDR, and one of those damned sweet Sony DVD+/-RW drives. I put it together pretty much to turn my tape collection into DVDs. It's still a work in progress itself, though.

I have two PCs, so I guess I'd better list 'em both.

My Custom Spec Desktop

AMD Athlon XP 1800

512MB DDR

80GB 7200RPM hard drive (need a big fast HD for audio recording :) )

16x generic DVD drive (no firmware protection; DVD Genie makes it region free. w00t! :D )

48x16x40 CD-RW

Windows XP Home w/ SP1

GeForce 4 Ti4200 with 128MB video RAM

Soundblaster Audigy (not a bad soundcard, but I'd love a decent audio I/F with "1/4 and XLR inputs. Having Firewire might be handy though.)

17" CRT monitor

Cost me £1000, but I sold my digital 8-track and my old PC to go towards it.

My Compaq Armada Laptop

PII 233

160MB RAM

10GB HD

Win98

Built-in sound

Internal CD + floppy drives (handy - no swapping :) )

Got it on Tuesday for £300. Not bad.

Neil
