A Matter of Taste

Looking at this board, it seems that the majority of posters are into FSPs, RPGs and sports sims. I was just wondering, do any of you guys like games like the Monkey Island series? For some reason, I only usually buy these games, unless something really impresses me.

My faves:-

Monkey Island Series

Sam & Max Hit The Road

Grim Fandango

Day of the Tentacle

Broken Sword

Blade Runner

Am I the only one? :(

I'm a fan of the Lucas Arts adventure games as well as Sierra's Police Quest series.  Oh yeah, the Gabriel Knight games were good too.

The monkey island series is probably one of the best games LucasArts have ever did.

No, you're not the only one.  It's just that we don't have much to talk about in that genre, because the fucking idiotic game companies stopped making pure adventure games.

Tell me about it, the last one I bought was Escape from Monkey Island, and it was disappointing. Broken Sword 3 is coming out this year though, so hopefully that'll be as good as the previous games from Revolution. Beneath A Steel Sky was awesome...fantastic plot.

I love those old adventure games, but new ones are non-existant.

Check out Rise of the Dragon and The Adventures of Willy Beamish at www.theunderdogs.org.  Heart of China isn't bad either.

I had both of those on Sega CD and loved them!  another good one along the lines of Rise Of The Dragon on Sega CD is Snatcher...anyone heard of that one?
