Your post count and you...do you care?

As of now, I'm in the 2900s in posts. I stopped noticing my number a while ago really. I'll just look at it and think "wow, thought it was a coule hundred less"

 

Do you care about your postcount? I did a lot more when I started posting on the new board after the old one died. First it was cool to get 500, then 1,000...now I don't even notice it.

 

A lot of posters get high numbers out of legit postings, then there are a ot who manage to get a couple thousand posts in a matter of 2 months or so.

 

I only check up with mine cause I'm curious what my title's going to be after the current one.

Nah. Considering I've been here for nearly a year and only amassed about 300 posts, that shouldn't be surprising.

Eh, like Anglesault, I just like to joke around about it. I'd say 2/3 of my posts bring the content, if not more, but OAOAST and such pumps the number a little more than it would normally be.

 

Ultimately I don't care. It's just something that gives me a reason to post for no apparent reason under the guise of jokingly post-whoring.

But I also look at it as a benchmark for who's who. If a poster's been able to reach 5000 posts you know he's been around for awhile and can bring the content.

 

But mostly i don't care. I used to care more but there are so many people now that just post whore for no reason (Cutthroat anyone?) that it means nothing.

I don't care that much, really. Although I'm kicking myself for not doing a special post for my 666th post, my 1986th post, and my 2004th post.

 

For my 666th post at Wrestling-Titans, I "celebrated" by posting the lyrics to Iron Maiden's "Number Of The Beast," since I'm well-known there as a metalhead.

 

I wanted to do something special for my 1986th post (the year I was born), and my 2004th post (the year I'll graduate), but I forgot to. Meh...

I've been here for about a year, and I'm close to 2200. So No, I could easy of Post Whored but I think 90% of my post have content. It might not all be sold but it's not posted for the sake of my post count.

For as long as I have been on the net, which is about 10 years, I have never cared about post counts and I never really understood why some people got so worked up over them.

 

Anyone can jack their post count up to a high number with one sentence responses/comments/jokes and say they were adding "content."

 

My question to the board and whoever reads this thread is:

 

If the board were to eliminate the post counts would anyone here have a problem with that and why?
