Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 19, 2003 As of now, I'm in the 2900s in posts. I stopped noticing my number a while ago really. I'll just look at it and think "wow, thought it was a coule hundred less" Do you care about your postcount? I did a lot more when I started posting on the new board after the old one died. First it was cool to get 500, then 1,000...now I don't even notice it. A lot of posters get high numbers out of legit postings, then there are a ot who manage to get a couple thousand posts in a matter of 2 months or so. I only check up with mine cause I'm curious what my title's going to be after the current one. Thoughts?
Guest Phr33k Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Nah. Considering I've been here for nearly a year and only amassed about 300 posts, that shouldn't be surprising.
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I generally do not care, although I get jealous of those with really high numbers sometimes. Damn you all.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I'm sorry New Me. I was excited when I was in the top ten list an I generally look at my count and go: cool- but other then that I don't care too much
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I care about my post count only so far as I can brag to others that I don't care about my post count.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Nope. Not at all.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I'll joke around about my post count with guys, but it isn't as important to me as you might think

Guest SP-1 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Nice double post there, AS. Bet that one helped the ol' post count, eh? Eh, like Anglesault, I just like to joke around about it. I'd say 2/3 of my posts bring the content, if not more, but OAOAST and such pumps the number a little more than it would normally be. Ultimately I don't care. It's just something that gives me a reason to post for no apparent reason under the guise of jokingly post-whoring.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I uh..don't care that much. I've been posting here a year and a half, which is the important part of the equation..
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I wanted to have at least 500, cause then I'd consider myself established (not as in ESTABLISHED~! established, the regular kind of established), but now that I'm past that I don't care.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Well... sorta I like to joke around about it alot. But I also look at it as a benchmark for who's who. If a poster's been able to reach 5000 posts you know he's been around for awhile and can bring the content. But mostly i don't care. I used to care more but there are so many people now that just post whore for no reason (Cutthroat anyone?) that it means nothing.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I don't care that much, really. Although I'm kicking myself for not doing a special post for my 666th post, my 1986th post, and my 2004th post. For my 666th post at Wrestling-Titans, I "celebrated" by posting the lyrics to Iron Maiden's "Number Of The Beast," since I'm well-known there as a metalhead. I wanted to do something special for my 1986th post (the year I was born), and my 2004th post (the year I'll graduate), but I forgot to. Meh...

Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted January 20, 2003 I got to about 600, and had it changed to a negative post count. Why? Eh, why not? Considering the lack of posts that I make, I'm going to be getting HHHeld down for a long fucking time.

Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 20, 2003 I've been here for about a year, and I'm close to 2200. So No, I could easy of Post Whored but I think 90% of my post have content. It might not all be sold but it's not posted for the sake of my post count.
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted January 20, 2003 For as long as I have been on the net, which is about 10 years, I have never cared about post counts and I never really understood why some people got so worked up over them. Anyone can jack their post count up to a high number with one sentence responses/comments/jokes and say they were adding "content." My question to the board and whoever reads this thread is: If the board were to eliminate the post counts would anyone here have a problem with that and why?
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted January 20, 2003 I wouldn't have a problem with post counts becoming a thing of thr past.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted January 20, 2003 I would. I like to joke around about them. And as someone who doesn't do one word shit JUST to jack up post counts, I have the right to take some small amount of pride in my Post count.
