Guest Incandenza Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 I caught the tail end of the halftime perf by Mr. Rule during the Phills-Bucs game, and was equally surprised and delighted to see him jeered so relentlessly. I know it isn't just because he sucks (though he certainly does). Let's theorize.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Maybe they hate 2Pac wannabe's?
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 I will never say that Philly fans are stupid...EVER... I now mark for Philly...though I am still rooting for a Bucs win...
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Damnit...I muted the half time...I would've loved to hear them boo him. I would've enjoyed it so much more if it was Nelly getting booed by them. Those creative Philly lunatics may have even brought pairs of Air Force Ones to throw at Nelly's cheesy ass.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 hehe. He is terrible, but hey, he has quite the amusing voice. He's one of those car wreck artists, like creed.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Also looked to be a heavily white crowd. Probably contributes to it somewhat. It was also a super-retarded performance, though I thought it was very funny that they rolled out a marching band to help.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Ja rule with a marching band% That must have been hilarious%
Guest Kinetic Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Eh, they boo everyone in Philly. Shit, they booed the Bucs when they were obviously the best team in the NFC. Clearly those people have no taste. Although Ja Rule does suck. No question. But fuck Philly nonetheless.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Also looked to be a heavily white crowd. Probably contributes to it somewhat. Well white people are probably the majority of Ja Rule's audience. He's basically "rap" if you want to call him that for surburban kids.
Guest Incandenza Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I don't buy into the audience being white as a reason why. Rap--particularly of the Ja Rule variety--is so mainstream that I can't imagine that large a number of people turning on him. Maybe the crowd, being that it was Philly, were big DMX fans.
Guest Mosh For Jesus Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Maybe they booed him because people don't go to a football game to see musical acts. They came to see the Eagles and they were losing too so they were pissed.

Guest El Satanico Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 They booed him because it's Philly...That's the only explanation needed as to why they booed. Last year i believe they booed Destiny's Child. They've booed Santa, A player leaving the field after getting a career ending neck injury and many many othr things that they have booed which they really shouldn't have booed. It's only one section too. The 700 section of the stadium is filled with lunatics and that's what makes people think that everyone in Philly is insane.

Guest Incandenza Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Don't you just love it when someone sneaks in a post during a multiple post?
Guest Mosh For Jesus Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 El Oh El at the multiple posting.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 With it being a football game in Philly, the least they could've done is have a heavy rock band play to get everyone's adrenaline flowing rather than some "I love the way you kiss me" song. BLAH!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Philly boos everyone. Jesus Christ could descend from heaven and Philly fans would boo him. Especially when they are losing a game at the time.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 We boo because we love. Or is that because we hate? Eh, whatever, it's not like other sports fans don't boo, or have equally as obnoxious/scary fans.
Guest Incandenza Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 So, what I've learned here is that idiotic Philly fans aren't exclusive to wrestling. Still, kudos on booing Ja Rule.
Guest Sassquatch Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Philly fans hate everything. I mean they booed Santa Claus so booing Ja Rule doesn't mean anything.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I saw the halftime show and was laughing my @ss off. For some reason I doubt the same people who shell out $$$ to see an NFL playoff game are the same people buying Mr. Rule's albums...
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 It was fucking JA RULE. Not really rocket science. Now can you dig THAT... ... BABYGURRRRRRRRRRRRRRL!!!!!!!
Guest Sassquatch Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 That was uncalled for Kotz. I feel robbed now.
Guest ant_7000 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Maybe there were alot of DMX or 50 Cent fans at the game. Ja is garbage 2Pac Wannabe and will go out of the rap game like Hammer did, And Ashanti is garbage no wonder 40,000 people petitioned against her from getting a award. So them getting booed I have no problem with. I do respect Philly's fans for being passionate with their sports teams eventhough they do go over the top at times.
Guest LooseCannon Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Santa Claus deserves to get booed. Much like Ja Rule. Or even Jesus Christ, if it came to that.
Guest mw679 Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Remember last year when the Philly fans booed Kobe when he won the NBA All Star MVP? That was classic! Ja Rule's performance was way off anyway, his vocals weren't even going along with the music....not that that really matters he would've gotten booed anyway. Damn, I love those Philly fans.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 And Ashanti is garbage no wonder 40,000 people petitioned against her from getting a award. She still shares the distinction of having 3 singles in the Billboard top 5 with the Beatles... She's horrid, but that much is true.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Kobe turned his back on Philly.
